Advice & Guides For the best chance of staying dry, laminated waterproofing is the way to go…

Customers commend the jacket's comfort, waterproof quality, and value for money. Its laminated design keeps it light and quick-drying, with good ventilation for warmth and airflow. Many highlight successful use in varying weather, from torrential rain to hot conditions, with consistent dryness and warmth. While the fit generally pleases, some mention sizing adjustments. The collar's adjustability is welcomed, though some find it low. Overall, customers find it a reliable and affordable alternative to pricier brands, offering excellent protection and functionality.
The cuffs are a bit narrow and I find the jacket is not as warm as the entry level Jackets from Oxford that have multiple layers. On the plus side the jacket is much more comfortable and flexible. I do think this jacket will do very well in Spring and summer/autumn. In winter I add a heated inner layer for rides below 5 degrees.
This is my second Mondial Advance jacket, the first one served my well for over 4 years and about 30,000 miles of riding.
Good points are;
It fits well, I'm 6ft, slim long arms and its spot on with the thermal lining on and a T-shirt and base layer under neath. Nice and snug if I add a fleece in the winter.
Totally Waterproof in many torrential downpours, dries quickly due to the laminated membrane.
Pockets are great, 2 pouch pockets on the front with zipped hand warmer pockets underneath, plus large rear pocket.
Ventilation is good.
Not so good points are;
The vents on the sleeves occasionally cause the forearm zips to get snagged, not really much of an issue if you take your time with them.
The collar seems a bit wide and low, however I am on the skinny side, it has never let rain in and is good for fitting thicker buff under.
The adjustable collar always returns to the same position after a short while.
I would have bought the updated version but being a tight Scotsman I couldn't resist the £100 saving on the original jacket.
Great waterproof laminated jacket with removable thermal liner, lots of air vents for summer on arms and chest with vents in the back, price was a big selling point as all the big names brands were at least double the price for anything laminated
Very comfortable fit. I always make sure there's plenty of room for under layers and found the sizing accurate for me and certainly warm enough, have not worn it yet in the wet
Great jacket, fits well, waterproof, warm in winter, cool, with vents open, in summer.
Plenty of pockets.
Lasts well, 2nd one I've bought, had 1st one 2 years, worn nearly every day, all year round
Bought 2nd one, as now using 1st one for off roading
Highly recommended
Does exactly what you need warm in winter , cool in summer and waterproof. This is my second not because the first didn't last (it's now 6 years old) but only because my gut has extended so I've gone up in size !
As usual, Oxford has made a great product with breaking the bank. Thd jacket is used on a daily basis and has never been an issue.
For the money I paid this jacket is brilliant. Did a 70 mile journey in the pouring rain and it just shrugged it off, also very warm.
The jacket is shorter than I expected but plenty long enough and I am tall. This also makes it a smarter option when off the bike and when its teamed with bike jeans. Its warm with the liner in, but I cant vouch for the water proofing yet. If its anything like the matching trousers which are ace, I will be a happy chappy.
I bought it in the Black Friday sale but it's worth full price. I like the venting & feel of the jacket. The thermal liner is pretty warm and will be handy for really cold days. Picked it up from the Harlow shop that always has good service.
An amazing jacket for the price. As good as jackets 3x the price. Thermal liner is extremely warm in the winter.
In summer thermal liner is removable, and panels open to allow airflow through the chest area. Zips on arms can be opened to allow airflow through mesh in the arms - to keep things nice and cool.
Lots of pocket space, and a map pocket on the bottom of the back.
Protection on elbows and arms, with options for extra back protection.
Have used on a couple of touring trips. An all round, all year jacket that is hard to fault anywhere.
Comfy and plush feeling at a great price
I have used this for two years in all weathers, Very dependable and waterproof. Never had a problem and use it summer and winter.
Got this for a 2500 mile tour of Europe with high and low temps. It worked really well, was dry in hours of rain through France and coolish in 32degree Swiss temperatures.
The zips could be a little easier to use but then I suppose they would leak.
This is a mid range jacket with good waterproofing, acceptable venting and reasonably warm. It s not a full 3 season jacket if you like wearing Tee shirts under. There are better and more expensive versions of those or weather specific products on the market.
I have bought another jacket which will be better in the summer and has a separate rain cover and destination jacket. But that is colder as it has a lot of zips with vents.
Main downer is the A rating
I bought one in 2019, and it is still comfortable, and at least showerproof (in heavy rain I use an oversuit as well). But for the (discounted, presumably stock clearance) price, I decided a second jacket was better value than a more more expensive brand. Brilliant home delivery service as size and colour not in Leeds shop - ordered one day after midday, arrived the following day about 1 pm. What more could you ask for?
For the price it's a great jacket, comfortable good pockets and warm
Fantastic bike jacket that sizes as expected; I’m a medium and fits perfectly (5ft 9, 78kg). Bought for a DAS course with two days of torrential UK rain and kept me dry. Superb quality and looks great imo; I also purchased the highest spec back armour, which apart from the additional weight you wouldn’t know you were wearing. Can’t recommend this jacket highly enough.
Neck clasp is a bad design. Came apart therefore not waterproof as water gets in through the top.
As they say, there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. Today's riding jackets are expected to be technically brilliant but that comes at a price with laminate jackets appearing at the top of that pile. Enter the new Oxford Mondial - technically brilliant but at a price that is within reach of all discerning motorcycle riders. In addition it's light weight, doesn't hold water in a downpour and dries out really quickly.

There are 2 external pockets that are not waterproof. There are 4 internal pockets, 2 on the inside of the thermal liner and 2 on the inside of the jacket itself. Whilst there are no dedicated waterproof pockets, the 4 internal pockets are on the inside of the waterproof liner, so there should be no water ingress from outside conditions.
