The popular Caberg Duke series gets a posh new version...
The whole front lifts up and it can be used like that when riding, not that I would. I mainly bought it so I can lift the front when I go to buy petrol and then I don't have to remove the whole helmet.
I originally bought the correct size for my head but it was too tight, so I had to send it back and order the next size up.
A very good helmet though with a large viewing area and came with a pin lock included.
It is my second helmet from Caberg and I like them. The colour is nice and helmet looks good. It has sun visor which tint a light a bit less than my previous one but enough to not be blind by sun. The M fit is perfect for me, tight but with no pressure points anywhere. It was surprise for me that the fog resistance insert was included.
The level of noise is acceptable. The only difference is a funny whistling when you are doing over 60 mph. due of - I think, cuttings for inside intercom system. Earplugs help. Overall good helmet.
Bought to replace my excellent Duke II and not disappointed to have paid more for this one. Love the extra-large visor and the overall sense of a top-quality product. Feels a little tighter than the same sized Duke but I'm hoping there will be a little more give over time.
Excellent fit, warm, Sun Visor is a great bonus, wide veiwing angle is also very beneficial, just waiting to try it on the road!
So I purchased this helmet to replace my ageing Caberg Duke, and I must say, this helmet lived up to the reputation my Duke had instilled in me as a commuter helmet. As a glasses wearer, having a flip helmet means I can place my glasses on properly, something I've struggled with on non flip helmets (2 HJC, 2 Shark and a Nitro)
Pros
- Quite light for a flip helmet
- Good for glasses wearers
- Nice Styling
- Visor wide for better visibility
- Sun Visor very good
- Comes with PinLock
Cons
- Noisy at speed (I'm yet to find a flip helmet that isn't)
- Tight fit, even on the large, the forehead inner needs softening, a long ride causes some discomfort, but this may bed in over time.
Summary
Overall a good helmet for the price, and great for commuting. The build quality is good and the helmet feels firm and stable, something often missed by flip helmets. If the helmet does bed in over time, could also become good for longer journeys, but in the meantime, 2 hours continuous wearing is defintely my limit.
Excellent service from SBS.as usual.Good fit and fantastic vision from the large visor especially when wearing giasses.noisier than my other helmets. There was no ECE-22 label on this helmet, but a phone call assured me it was compliant
Only had a few outings so far and it's pretty good. Good comfortable fit and reasonably quiet. Good all be round vision and overall a very solid lid.
Very pleased with the Pinlock already supplied and as always makes a big difference.
Very good quality helmet, fits perfectly true to size, very little wind noise, visor has never misted up, so very happy indeed with it.
I bought the Horus as an upgrade from the Duke 2. The Duke was my first helmet after many years off the road and now I'd wished I had spent a few pounds more. Don't get me wrong, the Duke 2 is a great helmet. 5 start rated by sharp. But the Horus, has better vents, better fit and the view from the larger visor is fantastic. The sun visor mechanism in my opinion is in a better place. Everything is easily worked with gloves on and the vents are effortless to work. The helmet feels tight but in time that should improve and even though it's a modular helmet, very little wind gets in at the joints, unlike the Duke which I find gets a bit drafty. Great buy, great price and great design.
Delivered on time and fits perfectly with a really wide vision.
Tested for 2000miles so far.Nice comfy lid, larger visor like having Widescreen compared to some. Even though there's Rain channels above the visor, can still get a few drops of water inside but much better than some lids. Comms fairly easy to fit, although there's no cutouts for the speaker wires etc like my AGV has.
Top service as always from Sportsbikeshop
Good finish inside and out. Very little wind noise and good aerodynamics. I bought this mainly for the panoramic vision as I suffer neck problems. I don't need to turn and twist so much as the view to the side to see my mirrors is excellent. Can ride up to 50 to 55mph easily without too much buffering with visor open. Excellent quality helmet, great value. Delivered quickly.
My 2nd Caberg helmet and what an amazing improvement on the old Duke.
Love the extra wide field of vision. Plus the side control for the sun visor and the positive click to shut the main visor.
Wind noise has been reduced as well.
Anyone wanting a flip up helmet won't find many better than the Horus.
Had two caberg helmets .but this is the best a lot lighter and field of vision is very good .and
Good ventilation.
Nice and light with great field of view through the large visor. Feels and looks good quality for the price paid. It's noisier than my last flip-up but ok with ear plugs. Overall a good helmet for touring.
Great looking lid. Easy to operate vents with gloves on. Not sure if it's going to be enough ventilation in the summer as it was quite watn at 15 c. A little bit noisy at speed and the drop down sun visor sits on my nose (I don't have a big nose) also be prepared to d*** throat your comms as its a bit snug at the front. Only real gripe is the lack of padding and big stitching. Gets a bit uncomfortable after a few hours. Very happy with the visibility with the massive visor. Makes shoulder checks nice and easy. If you can try one on first I would recommend it. Sportsbikeshop were amazing on delivery and exchanging for a bigger size. I'm usually a medium but needed to get a large. Thank you sportsbike shop.
Bought this as a second helmet. I'm new to riding and chose a Caberg Droid initially. It's still my go-to but I liked the deeper visor on the Horus so thought I'd try it out. Was not disappointed at all - still fits as perfect as the Droid, but the increased look-down range of vision is much welcomed. Can't pick a winner between the two but it's nice to have the choice!
Found a helmet that fits really good ,excellent fit , can't feel the ear pieces in the resets for Bluetooth, not many helmets do that as I've found. Less wind noise and eas to get sun visor down and up
