Flipfront helmets don't have to cost a fortune. These five belters won't leave you bankrupt...
Customers expressed satisfaction with the Caberg helmet, appreciating its comfort, affordability, and quality. They praised the flip-up design, which facilitates easy usage with glasses and enhances airflow. Many noted improvements from previous models, though some faced challenges with intercom integration and operating certain features when wearing gloves. Despite minor drawbacks, like sun visor visibility issues and snug fits, customers deemed it a worthy purchase, highlighting its quietness and safety features. Several affirmed its great value, favorably comparing it to more expensive alternatives.
Flip front helmet. Great fitting medium helmet. Sun visor very easy to raise or lower.
Definitely quieter than my previous helmet
Third Duke helmet. Duke, Duke 2 and now the X. Might not be the top of the range but always comfy out the box. Warm in winter and cool in summer.
This is easy to use, the sun visor is great. The flip up feature works well. Comfortable.
This is my third Duke. The first two were Duke 2's the second one saved me in a bad accident last August. They fit me well, are comfortable and aren't too heavy. They are well made and I was able to fit a Senna SMH5 intercom fairly easily. Recommended. Safe travels everyone.
Had a similar Caberg for 15 years and it lasted well, enabled easy use for lifting front at petrol station and final adjustment of my glasses before closing. Hence bought new and so far happy.
After riding for a long time with an open faced helmet. I have come to the age of self preservaition hence opting to replace my helmet with this flip front . The build seems very good and the noise level is very low. The helmet is comftable to wear. Still getting used to the more restricted vision compared to an open face. Seems to be a good helmet with the added benefit of being able too ride with the front open and locked in place if needed
Perfect fit, comfortable.
Good design makes it easy to use the controls with either hand.
Really pleased with the purchase,
Thank you
Good comfy fit for me and feels compact & light for a modular helmet.
The only down side is that the sun visor shows below the main visor top edge, even when fully retracted. I am ok with it now but some may find it intrusive.
Otherwise it suits me fine.
Had a Caberg full face helmet a while back and was pleased with it. This Duke X is just as good with the benefit of being a flip up. I found the top lever to operate the sun visor was very easy to locate and use. Added benefit is the ease of putting on glasses to read a map or parking information. Good value for the money
A very comfortable helmet for me and being a glasses wearer I appreciate that I can put on my glasses and then put on the helmet with the flip up front in the up position and then lower and lock it in place; this also makes it easier to position my intercom microphone.
This is a good helmet - not quite excellent but better than other purchases I've made. I bought because it fitted my head shape better than the 'cheeky' brand I'd had previously. It's quiet on the road but not tested at motorway speeds yet. The chin bar is closer to my face than my Other but I think this helps reduce the wind noise -aided by the chin bar skirt (it does seem notably quieter). What would make it excellent - the chin bar release is hard to operate with gloves on. This may be a new requirement and would be safer in a crash. I also found fitting an intercom a bit trickier with the pads packed in a lot tighter and the mic 'indent' (a nice touch) could do with being slightly longer. But with pinlock, sun visor, easily operated main visor, and resin shell, I don't think you'll find a better helmet for the money (assuming it fits the shape of your head).
Obviously this is an updated version of the Carberg Duke II helmet for the new ECE regulations. But it's just as good as the old one with a few minor tweaks. The included Pinlock was a nice touch but the slightly smaller button to open the front is not quite as good. Otherwise, it's a great modular helmet, not too much noise and the Duke II saved my head in a crash so don't see why this one would be any different. The blue one is a nice touch too!
I needed to replace my five year old Duke 2 which I've been really happy with. I looked at other ( more expensive) flip ups but decided on the updated Duke. Great helmet, comfortable for my head, I find it quiet enough, it's well made, includes pinlock and 22.06 certified.
I've had two caberg flip up helmets previously and have been happy with both. I had no hesitation in buying a third. It is comfortable and quiet and also good value for money.
My first flip helmet. Good flip mechanism, although not easy to operate with gloves on. Includes pinlock which fits easily as the visor has a simple release. Top operated sun visor is a little trickier than side operated versions whilst on the move. Ventilation is good hal.wt not the noisiest but not quiet, I think flips are just not aerodynamic enough. Comfortable and easy to put on, I wear glasses so no more messing about slipping them in after the helmet is on. Easy to remove liner but if you add a Bluetooth speakers system look in the little manual for the helmet as videos online suggest putting the speakers in the wrong place. The sun visor is always slightly visible and does not fully retract. I also get some slight vibration blurring with the visor and sun visor both down. Thw clasp for the locking strap is very close to the helmet and this makes it a bit fiddly to remove I measure a 60cm head but the shell was too big in a large so swapped for a medium. This is snug but fits better. Service and delivery from SBS was excellent. I did try to buy one at a local bike accessory shop went in twice and was ignored twice so it's on line for me!
Superb value and quality. My second Caberg Duke. Comfy, easy flip up and quiet
