Great looking jacket. You don't need to go a size with this brand. However it would be better if the belt was a bit longer. The pop rivet wrist fastening looks a wonder . However, it would probably be better with velcro. The same applies to the neck. The chest pockets can only just accommodate my s9 mobile phone. It is a warm jacket. Not tried in the rain yet. But I generally try to avoid the rain.

Warm, comfortable, well fitted and smart jacket. Ticks all the boxes for Me.

When I started riding bikes the only waterproof jackets were Belstaff or Barbour both of which were cold and offered limited protection. Merlin have brought those classics into the 21st century, warm, dry and no excess wax to deposit elsewhere. The D3O armour is subtle so you still get the "classic" look without unnecessary bulk. It's not the cheapest but then neither were the originals and they're still not. If you want the classic look with modern performance then this is it.

This really makes you think about the quality. So many clever touches built into this jacket. Fit is slightly larger than I expected, but it looks fantastic and is very comfortable. Lovely and warm in near zero temperatures, but doesn't feel too warm indoors thanks to the clever lining. Beautiful construction and oozes quality. No back armour supplied with it, shame but not the end of the world. Not tested the waterproofness properly yet, but it seems like it would be decent due to the materials used and clever construction.
Only gripe is the zipper doesn't go all the way up and only way to fasten the neck is with the belt which is fiddly! Otherwise it's top notch.
