Merlin Neptune 2 WP Textile Jacket - Ice

Substantial jacket. The proportions are very generous. This is the longest length jacket I have ever owned and covers the midriff area perfectly. Sizing..I had to drop a size to get a good fit.

Five stars for performance of a jacket at this price. Excellent D30 armour, 4 out of 5 for warmth though when compared to my similar other brand jackets.
Some of the 13 pockets are not waterproof, but overall the jacket stood up very well in 20 miles of absolutely torrential rain.
Cannot complain at the price. 38"chest, 5' 11" and Medium was a good fit.

I have had to replace my current jacket of 11 years and so looked long and hard at others.

The Merlin fits all the criteria for me, phone pocket inside, pocket to put my glasses in, and many more pockets to fill.

The size was an issue for me as I checked their chart and ordered a 5XL but had to drop to a 3XL (I am 52" chest and Guinness tank) . Perfect fit with a little room for the colder weather in the dead of winter and extra clothing underneath.

Well made, stiched well and just as importantly, pleanty of reflective parts for those "SMIDSY" drivers who pull out in front of you at night. Importantly for me the arms are just the right length and I find the gloves will both go either outside or inside, depending on the weather. Good fit for either. Good adjustble cuffs on the jacket.

The length of the jacket at the rear is good, allowing for body heat around the kidneys no draughts at all.

The collar suits me fine, I dont have a long neck/throat but the very clever design of the adjustable fastener allows for plenty of room without snagging when making "lifesavers", yet it keeps the wind and rain out.

Plenty of zipped ventilation for the warm days which quickly fasten when it is time to close them.
All in all this jacket is, in my opinion, very well made and designed by thinking bikers.
The jacket is light weight and comfortable for me.

I think the price is perfect for the jacket, so much so that when my next pension arrives I will get a pair of matching wet weather trousers that will zip to the jecket with ease.
I recommend this jacket as worth every penny and certainly a contender up their with the higher priced kit.

Fits like a glove, light and comfortable.
On the down side, not as long connector zip and less effective vents then my previous RST paragon

I can highly recommend this jacket, there are plenty of pockets and all the protection is in the right places. I think for the quality you could expect to pay a higher price. I haven't had chance to use it in the rain yet but fingers crossed it will keep out the wet stuff.

Great value winter jacket from Merlin. Been a motorcycle instructor I always look for great protection from the weather and from the road! The construction of this jacket is top class, with loads of pockets to lose your keys in! And at last a jacket that has long enough arms! Gloves fit under the cuffs perfectly. And the tail of the jacket is long enough to sit on to stop draft's getting up you back! Top job Merlin!

My third Merlin Jacket in regular use now; says it all about how I rate Merlin products. I take a large and this jacket fitted perfectly like my others. The quality looks as good as I've come to expect and I've no doubt this jacket will stand the test of time as my other jackets have.

Another quality product from Merlin. I always take a large in jackets and this is no different so good sizing. The jacket is very well put together, has a substantial solid feel to it, would certainly recommend if your after a cheaper jacket but your after something different to the usual bigger named brands.
