Merlin Sherbrook D3O Single Layer Riding Shirt - Red

This shirt is awesome and true to size. I went a size up as I like it slightly looser fitting but it’s a great shirt. Comfortable and looks great. Quality is great too. I bought the D30 back protector too and you don’t even notice any of the armour is fitted at all. I highly recommend this shirt.

This is my second Merlin Sherbrook shirt. I love the red check one in already own, so much, that I ordered a second in green. They are my go-to summer riding clothing. Just worn with a base layer or t shirt, they give a good amount of protection, without the bulk or heat of a jacket. The armour is very light and flexible compared to cheaper shirts of the same style. My only small criticism would be that, at the price the back armour could be included rather than optional.
I would definitely recommend these shirts but go a size or two up because they're quite small.

I'm already the owner of an RST riding shirt, which I like very much. This shirt from Merlin is very similar in style, but with much better quality and lighter armour and a slightly better quality feel to it. It's a bit more pricey but is much lighter and more comfortable to wear, without any reduction in protection. As a word of caution, the sizing is quite small. I'd normally take a 2XL in everyday clothing but have gone for a 4XL (the largest size) to get a shirt which fits perfectly.
