Rukka Nivala 2.0 Gore-Tex Textile Trousers - Black

Super warm with the liner in and definitely dry, liner I think is a bit too warm for the mild days, however easy to remove if too much.
They fit well over the adventure style boots, and take a little braking in to get used to.
The Sizing is a little off due to the liner so I would advise definitely trying out a few different sizes as they come with regular and short versions, as the knee protectors can be in the way when walking with boots if too long.
Overall the quality of these are excellent and in comparison to the price tag I believe these are a great investment as with the right care they will out last any cheaper product
Rukka brand has a great rep and people do tend to continue wearing them way beyond the 6 year mark.
The after care instructions are good and plenty of information in regards to cleaning and proofing.

Saved up for a year to invest in a Rukka Nivala 2.0 Gore-Tex textile Jacket and trousers and what a disappointment the trousers have been.

After only wearing the trousers half a dozen times in fair weather, there was noticeable wear in the natural creases to the outside of both knees, which also coincided with the outer corner of the armour. Concerned that If I continued to wear them a hole would develop, I stopped wearing them and submitted what I considered to be an honest and genuine warranty claim together with photographs clearly indicating where and how the wear was occurring.

The claim was instantly dismissed with an accusation that the trousers had been subjected to “damaging actions” despite clear evidence to the contrary.

The manufacturer also did not respond to my request for materials for me to try and carry out my own repairs.

Such a disappointment and not what I expected and I truly regret purchasing the suit.

Equally as good as the original Nivala. Doesn't bulk up too much when wearing with the duck down liner, unlike the jacket which is too tight at the biceps for me, with the inner jacket on inside. (Open the arm vents and the jacket's fine). These trousers no issues.

This is a bit of continuation of my review of the Nivala 2.0 jacket, yes it's all the money in the world, but it's worth every penny and I should have bought one years ago. But, a point about sizing. I bought a Medium in the jacket which was a European 50. Spot on sizing for me generally. Also ordered a medium in the trousers and what was delivered was a European size 48. SBS to their credit switched up in store after I'd gone in to try the 50 (Large) in both regular and short guises. Moral of the story is unless you're small waisted and barrel chested, consider sizing up on the trousers.

Brought these for a trip to the Black Forest in the height of summer and day to day commuting. They were quite warm in the summer but have two air vents for airflow. They are supremely comfortable. I got caught out by a storm and was bone dry when I arrived at the hotel. Braces enhance the overall comfort. It's a premium product but worth the money if you're going to get everyday use. Strong recommend

Although expensive the quality of this kit is outstanding.
Fully waterproof, extremely comfortable and over the 6 year warranty period, extremely good value for money.

I'm a large normally but found the XL to be a better fit at 6ft and 16st. This version 2 of Nivala stretches better making it far more comfortable than the previous Nivala version and the Rukka Kalavasi I own. These trousers are excellent but I would advise going to SBS and trying them on. SBS staff are the best in the business and will help you. Get the trousers and matching Nivala 2.0 jacket and you can't go wrong, first class gear and very comfortable whilst providing first rate safety.

As my review for jacket. I am 31" leg, waist is 36" and needed a 54 short in order to feel ok with down trousers under. And these really work.

Selected these Rukka trousers for there impeccable quality and incorporated safety features! The outer material has a feel of robustness, while the inner has a ventilated liner!
Also comes with the safety pads in all the right areas ! Waterproof and comes with a quilted liner for the colder days!
Highly recommend.

I wore these trousers the other day and when I was out there was a tremendous down poor and when I arrived home I was as dry as I was when I set off. I know that they are expensive but I would definitely recommend them if you can afford them

I brought these trousers as a set with the Nivala 2.0 jacket. Being honest the jacket and trousers are a disappointment.
I initially ordered the same sizes as my previous suit (from a different manufacturer). The jacket felt too big, while the trousers were too small. I needed to go up two sizes of trousers to get them on...and they feel a little baggy in the knee area when off the bike. When on the bike, they feel OK(ish). I'm very aware of the hip protection.
The down liner is very warm, but a bit of a faff to be putting two sets of trousers on.
I also find I keep catching the inner lining with my feet and pulling it out the bottom of the legs, which then needs tugging back up before you can zip everything up.
None of my previous trousers were this fussy when putting on.
On a positive note the quality of materials and construction is great.
Just a shame that usability is below par for a pair of trousers that cost a grand.

These are heavily armoured trousers so don't expect them to be like a pair of pyjamas! that said they are comfortable to wear and warm when the down liners are used. Obviously, they are totally water-proof which is to be expected but they also have a built-in mesh seat which although fairly thin, definitely improves a day in the saddle.
