Advice & Guides Laminated waterproofing is taking over the world. Our video runs through our top options

The Nivala 2.0 jacket receives high praise from customers for its exceptional comfort, tailored fit, and robust protection. Many are impressed with the jacket's warmth and waterproofing, reinforced by the effective D30 armor. Despite its high cost, buyers emphasize it's a worthy investment for all-season use. Complaints focus on the high collar and occasional stiffness but are generally overshadowed by the overall satisfaction with quality and performance, particularly in severe weather. Enhanced by a six-year warranty, it's a reliable choice for serious riders.
This is a very fine product and well thought out with top of the range materials.
Let's get one thing out the way it's bloody expensive. But it is well made and the thermal under jacket is very nice with both on you are very warm .main jacket has big pocket two on outside and one waterproof one inside. I had to go up one size to get length in body as I am 6 ft 4 in. I would have liked ajustable straps on arms for this much money and not sure on one piece chest protection I think it would of been better with two pieces so when you go any where you can undo jacket with out it flopping about every where. And one more thing you need a long neck as it has tall collar which can catch on your helmet and stops you turning your head from left to right quickly.
Getting a Rukka jacket has been on my wish list for a while and managed to save up for one. It does not disappoint. Very comfy, fits very well, great quality and so light for how good it is.
Really impressed with this jacket - does exactly as product description states. Jacket is high quality, as you would expect from Rukka & has kept me warm and dry on an unexpected new commute to work of 40 miles a day. Comfort level is great, fit is as expected based on your measurements, overall length is good and means the jacket does not ‘ride up’ when travelling. Cost as expected for the quality, you truly do get what you pay for with this one.
Great jacket, fits perfectly, very comfortable. Still pretty warm without the liner but I swear that with the liner, you could ride in sub zero temperatures and still be ok ! These are not cheap but you get what you pay for. Extremely impressed
Took me a while to take the plunge and buy this due to its price, but I tried on several Rukka jackets as well as RST, Dainesse and Klim. This was by far the most comfortable and best fit.
Flawless in the rain so far, some torrential downpours on the way to work!, The collar is high but works a treat and keeps out water and cold air, cuffs are brilliant, will be great in the winter months, the separate down liner is more or less my everyday jacket now so worth it from that respect.
Despite the armour being huge (really huge), it doesnt feel it when the jacket is on, it fits seamlessly into the jacket and you barely notice it.
Vents work well on warmer days.
Happy with my purchase, it just needs to last several years and several thousand miles to get my moneys worth
Brilliant jacket. If you are in the market for an outfit of this value then there is no other choice. I have tried lots and none perform or are as comfortable as this outfit. Totally dry, warm and a great feeling of safety with all of the up to date body armour fitted make this the ultimate and best on the market
It's lightweight but totally waterproof, plenty of ventilation.
Inside thermal is separate and can be used as a light jacket
In heavy rain and strong winds, this jacket kept me warm and dry.
It gave me the confidence to stop worrying about the weather.
Comfortable too. A great piece of clothing! Recommended.
Just dry dry dry!!!! Never had a jacket that never lets in the water on a bike! tested it to its limits on a wet trip to Ireland totally dry in really foul weather ? Brilliant no sweating either & very comfortable too?
Super warm with the liner in and definitely dry, liner I think is a bit too warm for the mild days, however easy to remove if too much.
The Sizing is a little off due to the liner so I would advise definitely trying out a few different sizes with the down jacket inside it can become very tight, .
Overall the quality of these are excellent and in comparison to the price tag I believe these are a great investment as with the right care they will out last any cheaper product
Rukka brand has a great rep and people do tend to continue wearing them way beyond the 6 year mark.
The after care instructions are good and plenty of information in regards to cleaning and proofing.
Excellent advice and service from Sue (at the MK depot)
Wow compared to my 7 year old rukka suit this is a massive step up light and comfortable from the off best suit I have got.
After several years of Rukka, I decided to upgrade my current Rukka suit! The stretch material is extremely comfortable and the upgraded D3O is noticeable over my old suit. Expensive, yes, the internal jacket and Goretex Pro keep you warm and 100% dry
Had the original Nivala which I preferred. For me, the vent around the biceps creates an uncomfort because it's too tight, the previous Nivala didn't have this venting at the upper arm, because it's a waterproof zip, it's too stiff when closed. So if you have large arms, it creates an issue. I guess not everyone will have this problem. The rest is 5 star though.
I'm an all year long biker with a 50 mile round trip, split 50% motorway and 50% central London traffic. I cannot fault this jacket in anyway! Yes it costs all the money in the world, that much should be obvious but I will echo what others have said and that is that I wish I'd bought it years ago. Bought in late November, and between this and the inner "destination" jacket it keeps me warm in 0-2 degree temperatures on the motorway for about an hour. The jacket was overly firm and rigid to begin with but is becoming even better as I continue to break it in. If you can, you should!
Jacket feels quality and looks great. I wanted a jacket without the big pouch front pockets and a cleaner cut to the look, this ticks the boxes for me.
I would definitely recommend trying on for the correct fitment as all the other jackets I have and tried on are a Euro 52, the stretch fabrics built in are really good and make the suit feel comfortable to move in, I ended up going a size down Euro 50, which fits superb.
All weathers! All disciplines of riding!
Beautifully constructed! Feel fabulously protected and secure!
Came to purchase a cheaper alternative, but once I tried this on there was going back despite the extra cost. The fit is superb, the quality and feel of the fabric just stands out. I was worried it might be a bit heavy and hot but actually the venting is superb. Would recommend it. And whilst expensive I think it is worth it given its performance.
