Anyone out there who enjoys riding with wet hands? Nope, thought not. Here’s your waterproof salvation…
Customers generally find the Rukka Virium gloves to be of high quality, comfortable, and waterproof, suitable for various weather conditions. They appreciate the gloves' vegan-friendly materials and dexterity, making them ideal for wet and mild climates. While some customers experienced sizing issues and discomfort, most agree they are worth the investment. A few mentioned the gloves' durability over multiple years and miles. Despite rare issues with water resistance, the overall sentiment is positive, especially for use in the UK.
This is my second pair of Viriums (took my 5 year old pair off-road, so needed a nicer road pair) and they are excellent. Best glove I've ever owned. They are completely waterproof and windproof and I'd say you can use them for 3 seasons - you might want something a little warmer for winter. Touchscreen finger and visor wipe on left hand index finger are so useful.
Sportsbikeshop had the best price and they arrived 2 days later - can't fault their service at all - thank you.
Bought around 3 years ago for adventure and trail riding. Initially, they performed well, except the knuckle protectors, which after a full day of riding caused pain in the knuckles, as if they were bruised. During longer trips I got used to it, but whenever I had a break from riding and used them again, the feeling came back. I normally wear size L, and and these in size L fitted me very well.
For the first couple of years they kept my hands dry and the touchscreen capability was working very well. After this period, I noticed that in heavier rains, my hands would get wet and touch screen capability became temperamental. No it stopped working full stop, so I have to remove the gloves to use my navigation device.
Considering that these ar fairly expensive, I probably would no buy them again.
I was recommended these Rukka gloves by friends in my bike club after my six-year-old Held gloves had given up the ghost in days of heavy rain while in Scotland. The size is accurate (Medium), and I find them very comfortable. My first pair of Rukka gloves, and I am very pleased with them, but I have not used them in the rain yet.
I have a pair of the earlier ones and after a couple of years use the lining keeps coming out when my hands are hot. These ones will hopefully be better and I will attempt to hold the fingers when removing them. Having said that they are brilliant gloves and the visor wipe blade is excellent hence another pair ?
These gloves are laminated, so no separate lining to deal with. This makes them not too warm, but because the laminated material is a good wind blocker they are good for cooler weather. I was after a summer months thin glove that was still waterproof and would cope with a chilly early morning start - they are completely waterproof having ridden in proper sustained torrential rain, my hands stayed dry and warm.
I've ridden in 8 degrees without needing the heated grips. Over 22 degrees and they start to get a bit sweaty as the wind blocking advantage also means they can overheat if it's hot.
Only downside is the grippy rubber lines on the finger tips have come unglued after just three weeks of use which was disappointing. Not sure why you need grip points there anyway!
Gloves made a great impression on me but unfortunately I had to sell them on, they were a close fit and hurt between my fingers. I have worn Rukka Mars the same size for many miles and these do not fit the same, be aware.
Touchscreen fingers work well, dexterity snd feel is excellent. I got these as a replacement for Knox Coniston which were totally unfit for use on a bike imo, I have now given up on getting waterproof summer gloves, since the top shelf options have worked out so poorly, for me.
I am on the second pair of these gloves in 2 years due to holes in the finger & the manufacturer doesn't want to know. Save your money & buy something else.
Had these for a year and used them in torrential rain with no leaks. Comfortable with good feel for controls and the touchscreen compatibility still works. I’ve had other gloves where that stopped working after a short while.
My only criticism is, for me the thumb is too long but this is a problem I have with every brand.
I’ve now found that if I go up a size in the “ladies” gloves they fit perfectly. I’ve obviously got big lady hands.
Great quality gloves as you would expect from Rukka. I did think the fingers could have been a little bit longer when I first started wearing them, but now they have softened up a bit they seem fine. Not tested for waterproofing, but I'm sure they will be fine. Rode in 4 degrees and they were ok, I would think that would be the limit, at least for my hands.
This is my second pair of Virium. My first never let water in were all day comfy and were my go to glove until the winter kicked in. After 5 years of constant use they started to show their weakness. The lining would pull out in wet weather and stitching around the wrist failed but they never leaked.. This upgraded version looks good, only time will tell how well they fair.
Been looking for good quality waterproof gloves for an ages, a bit expensive but worth it. So comfortable light weight and warm oh and of course waterproof on index finger on left there's a rubber strip for wiping visor when raining what is a nice touch
I am so happy with these.
I would highly recommend if u don't mind the outlay
So comfy you forget your wearing them. Lightweight and hopefully as waterproof as folk say they are. Expensive but with a good warranty. Don't forget though, Gortex doesn't like heated grips.
Wat can I say Rukka quality
Not tried them
In the wet, but fit's perfectly
Wanted to treat myself to a decent pair of gloves and I'm very picky, needing to be all rounders . I've been looking since just after Christmas finally decided on these. Never had any rukka kit before very happy with them.
Bought from sportsbikeshop Boston, great service. Gloves are very comfortable, size is good at a large and is what I normally wear. Not worn in the rain yet but have done around 500 miles in them so far. No complaints.
Had hard time choosing a waterproof summer glove. These are expensive outlay and was hesitant to spend this much. Decided after all the reviews to make a leap of faith. So glad I did, these are comfortable out of the box and are so well made...
I wanted a goretex glove that I could wear all year apart from really hot summer days.
The recommendations for these gloves are excellent and now I know why.
I have tested them in torrential rain and temps up to 22 degrees and they performed faultlessly.
Another great product by Rukka and awesome service by Sportbikeshop. Why go anywhere else?
Worth the money great fit and very warm I haven't been in heavy rain yet but I'm sure they'll be ok

They seem to be stitched in, so you should be fine with these gloves.
