Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers find the Oxford Original Approved AA Shirt to be a versatile choice, suitable for both casual wear and riding. Its solid denim fabric provides a reassuring weight, while still offering comfort thanks to a stretchy feel. The level 2 armour works well, though shoulder pockets can be restrictive for those wanting to swap armour. Sizing varies with one recommending ordering different sizes to find the best fit, and others finding it looser or with longer arms than expected. Overall, a stylish, effective shirt for warmer rides.
Bought this shirt (and some AA jeans). Wanted something AA rated and I could go out in and not have to change. Its comfortable (more like a jacket than a shirt) and reasonably stylish. Fits well, I'm 6'2" bought the 2XL and is perfect. Recommended.
Great quality denim & padding good. Rear pad needed.
Love the colour and fit a minor gripe is the coller tends to flap around in the wind.
Ive got the same shirt in another colour so i knew what i was buying. Its a shirt that looks like a shirt. most riding shirts are closer to jackets. Its reassuringly thick but not to heavy or inflexible and fits as expected compared to other motorcycle clothing brands. (not compared to real clothes.)
This i believe is the older iteration as i expected. the newer version has better armour i believe. Which is my only downside. the shoulder armour pockets are an odd size. the armour provided is quite bulky and because the shoulder pockets are quite small I was limited in what armour i could fit. Not an issue if you kept the armour provided, but I am an incessant fiddler. Ghost and diablo armour dont fit. I put SAS-Tec level 1 armour in the shoulders and now im looking for level 2 that fits.
Oh what a nice bit of kit for a summer bimble - and on sale too!
Excellent fit, armour not too intrusive. Surprisingly doesnt much airflow through the fabric. had to open buttons to let air in on 30c day in june 2025.
Nice to walk around in doesnt look odd even with armour.
great value for me a must buy for summer
This is a great Riding Shirt; Single Layer, so fully protective but without the Kevlar Lining which can be too hot in good weather.
I wear mine without the protective insert, over my Knox Action Pro Armoured Shirt and a wicking Base Layer. This is really comfortable on a warm to hot day
Currently £99.99 from Sportsbikeshop, which is a really good deal
I've bought other motorcycle shirts before, but they usually feel more like jackets than actual shirts. This one isn’t quite a shirt either. It's more of an overshirt, but it's impressively thin for a AA garment. The sleeves are a bit loose, probably to accommodate the Level 2 armour which, at the elbows, is barely noticeable. I just wish the shoulder armour was the same. They tend to stick out a bit, at least for me. Overall, it's a very nice, stylish, and casual option for riding on hotter days.
Great product for safety wirthout feeling overdressed
The shirt looks like normal clothing which is a big plus if you are not planning to look like Rossi. It is quite fitted so if you are a porker, not for you
Great product well fitting as always great service from this outlet
Size chart accurate I’m 6ft with a 44 to 46 chest and is perfect. Arm length is spot on. Service and delivery couldn’t be better
This was on special at Spotsbikeshop so I picked it up as I already have the blue denim version. These are ideal for the warm weather just cruising and as the back armour fits both I have no need to buy another protector. Packed away now for a tour in Scotland with my waterproof Montreal 4 which also has the same armour so I only need the one set for all three.
This is a really nice garment and something you could easily wear casually off of the bike.
The shoulder armour makes for awfully big shoulders but is easily removed.
I bought this for dotting around town on hotter days and it will do that job just fine.
Good to wear as a casual jacket as well as for protection while riding.
CE AA and level 2 impact protection gives you the confidence to wear this summer shirt and remain cool while riding in the hottest of temperatures.
Looks stylish too.
In my experience the arms are too long relative to the body length but if you can live with that then its a comfortable summer alternative.
