Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

I kid you not - I have been looking at SBK for around a year, trying every Rukka under the sun to find the one that fits like my current Rukka from 10+ years ago (around 12 years old to be exact). A size 50 that fits me like a glove. Fast forward to now and it didn’t matter if I looked at £1,500 or £600 they were all not fitting like my perfect 50. Someone in a forum advised me to try the Pathfinder-r and they were absolutely right, this is finally a Rukka size 50 that does fit very very similarly to my old Rukka 50. As an added bonus, this one is an AA rated Rukka and as I commute all year round, a huge benefit for me. Yeah sure it doesn’t have the same “feel” as a Voyager or Comfo or some of the other Rukka but I couldn’t care less, the important thing is that:
Its Gore Tex
It’s AA
And most important of all, its been cut to size the 50 of old like my current jacket, which means for my body shape it is supremely comfortable jacket and that’s what I need for a 3hr round trip commute
Thanks to the Reading SBK shop who no doubt are finally glad to see me no longer struggling to find the “perfect” Rukka. I did a little celebration with the team and Luiz (added bonus he speaks Portuguese like me) when we finally found and I bought the jacket!!!
Needed to replace my Rukka jacket which served me well for 15 years. Purchased the above great quality, inner lining shoulder and elbow protection included, added the back protection. Highly recommended jacket. Great service from SBS.
Whilst the jacket is of the quality and standard you would expect from Rukka - fits well, high quality materials etc. How it was packaged needs attention
Very flimsy cardboard box which was split and collapsed. The shop security tag (long grey metal/plastic item) attached to jacket with metal cord still attached. I'm sure this should have been removed prior to sending to a customer!
To be fair this is not the usual experience with Sportsbike
I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and have worn it in both November and December riding both my naked and my sportsbike. I was a comfortable temperature whilst the outside temperature was 7 degrees Celsius. I kept the thermal lining attached. I needed both a thermal underlayer and a should have worn two long sleeve T's but I only wore one. It is a good and accurate fit, I am a 52" chest and the sleeves are a good length, and I can easily get them to fit over the top of my Rukka gloves although I found it necessary to really wrap the wrist band velcro tightly as the wind can disappear up the sleeve and cool the torso. I also bought the optional D30 back protector. The D30 elbow and shoulder protection feels up to the task and is very reassuring and adds to the great cosseting feeling I get whilst riding in this jacket. The jacket comes down the body a long way, there are short 100mm zips on each side which you can used to compensate for the fit whilst you are seated. The high neck collar velcro actually fits comfortably around my 17.5 inch neck whilst wearing a buff (read it and weep other manufacturers). The jacket zip connects to the trousers from the left and a bit further round the front than I am used to (read it and weep again other manufacturers), which is a welcome change too. I ordered this jacket and corresponding trousers online and used the 'Try before you Buy' option with Sportsbikeshop Reading and wandered around the showroom for a good 15 minutes, bending, squatting and stretching in the jacket and trousers to make sure that I was happy with my purchase, which I am. In fact I would go as far as to say, I'm delighted with them.
Intended buying the Rukka Comfo-R, as it feels a bit more comfortable than the Pathfinder.
Both jackets are a good fit.
The Pathfinder has a higher abrasion resistance on the reinforcements which makes this jacket a bit stiffer. However never intended using the storm collar on the Comfo -R, and the back collar on this jacket looks odd as if it has not been designed correctly. Both jackets have good high back collars, compared to jackets from other manufacturers. Ok, had to pay extra for the back protector , but Rukka protectors are worth the money.
Have not worn it yet in heavy rain to test it out.
Rukka jacket, expensive but good or so I thought, first ride in heavy ish rain, I got soaked, not very happy, jacked was sent back to Rukka, they say they have fixed it but haven't told me what was wrong, SBS, also don't know what they've done to fix it, what a waste of money. I must have bought another Friday afternoon special.
After trying on lots of jackets I opted for the rukka. The price was a bit high but the jacket is quality and very comfortable.
Bit disappointed it didn't come with a back protector.
Yet to wear it in the rain but I have no doubt it will do the job.
Would have given 5 stars if back armour had been included, why this has been left out on what is an expensive jacket. Is just penny pinching.
Thought I would treat myself to a new Rukka suit! Not cheap but highly rated! Very substantial bit of kit and I'm very happy as always for the service received from the SPORTSBIKESHOP!
Cracking jacket, comfortable and fits really well.
SBS were the only local dealer who I could source a medium sized (48) jacket from. They ordered me one in to try within around one week. Service in the store was excellent - everything you need to check you are getting the correct size. A dummy bike frame next to the fitting rooms so you can check how it feels when in riding position is perfect. The guy who served me in store also grabbed me out a pair of trousers to also check they went with the jacket (I'd driven to the store so didn't have any bike gear on). I purchased the jacket on site - overall very impressive customer service and after a few rides out it feels like a quality product. Still waiting to test in the rain but I have enough friends who wear the kit and vouch for it in all conditions. Worth shelling out the extra money for.

We recommend the Rukka D3O XTR Back Protector for this jacket.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
