XCP Professional - Rust Blocker
Customer Product Reviews
Proven to be the best!
Having seen the results of the extensive tests which Ride Magazine put these protective sprays through I was convinced to buy. There is no doubting this sprays effectiveness, its easy to apply and since using it there's been no signs of rust taking hold. I've also started using it on my lawn mower blades and golf clubs to great effect. No end of uses, Great product and free postage from Sportsbikeshop when buying two. Buy it, you'll be happy you did!
Thick cover all, easily applied
This can be applied by cloth, brush or sprayed onto the surface. I tend to use a brush (artist type flat brush) this puts it where you want it. Bigger areas like the Swingate you can use a cloth or larger brush, if it's over applied just wipe excess with a cloth, still leaving the area protected. Not had it long, but looks a good product.
ACF50 Vs XCP is the obvious question and for me, it's XCP. Why? Having tested both, XCP lasts longer is the simple answer. The best appproach to using XCP is to clean and dry your bike then apply with a rag or paper towel on exposed metal parts. Don't squirt it on or it'll run and leave thick oily streaks! Then give it at least 24hrs for the solvent to flash off and you're good for ages. It's good from the get go but if you leave it 48hrs it will turn from an oil into a waxy film that will ONLY WASH OFF WITH DEGREASER OR SOLVENTS, so don't spray this near your brakes without some isopropanol alcohol (brake/carb/contact cleaner for the non chemically minded!) to hand. I used XCP on my KTM 690, rode through all the salt and grime, November - April and barely washed it and the bike cleaned up as good as when I bought it.
Easy to use
I brushed it into the exposed fixings on my bike and it clings well to the metal surfaces. It is easy to see where you have applied it. I suspect the bottle I have will go a long way used like this. The hand spray is useful to get to more difficult to reach areas under the tank.
Easy to apply
Just spray it and wipe it. It is hard not to overspray especially using the bottle spray. For the first time maybe is better to use spray can. Lot of smoke first time starting the engine and smell and lot of dust will attach after first ride.
