Schuberth C4 Pro - Gloss White
Customer Product Reviews
Bought 2 one for me & the wife I had to exchange mine for one size up which was no problem with Sportsbikeshop, we had a 400 mile road trip with the new helmets and with the SC1 advanced system and are well impressed great vision very little wind rush and the sun visor is great.
A bit dissapointed
After reading and watching many reviews and despite only just having purchased a hjc rpha 70 I bought this for better wind noise protection but it's not alot better and probably worse noise around the visor. The plus point it's you get a better view out and off course being a modular helmet gives you more freedom.
Newest Schuberth flip front helmet
I bought this helmet to replace my 3 year old C3Pro which has had a lot of use. I was attracted by the usefulness of the SC1 communications system which easily slots into the helmet base and also the availability of a remote handlebar controller. The helmet is a good fit and is now made with slight "easing" so your spectacles or sunglasses' arms don't feel so tight around your temples or over your ears. The wind noise seemed slightly less than the C3 although the very effective top air vent whistled quite a bit. I adjusted my windscreen slightly pushing the wind buffeting over the top of the helmet so it doesn't distract me any more. It doesn't seem to make this noise riding a bike without any screen. The chin strap is very easy to do up and is quite comfortable. The earphones and built in microphone work very well and the mic setup is very unobtrusive unlike the old C3 one on a stalk that is easy to trap when lowering the flip-up. It doesn't get 5 stars unfortunately. Although it is supplied with a Pinlock anti-misting internal screen, essential for all year around use, you have to fit it yourself. It should be fitted by the factory. The instructions aren't correct. They say 'turn the 2 Pinlock screws to adjust to get a proper seal' but SportsBikeShop had to ring them up for me as mine wouldn't turn and were in risk of breaking with further trying. Apparently, you have to press them out very carefully and then and only then can you turn them. All very fiddly and you shouldn't really have to do the manufacturer's job for them. There is some risk of damage to the Pinlock or visor if you aren't really careful and its not for the faint of heart. Disappointing on such an expensive helmet.
Schuberth C4 Pro - Matt Black
Having had the previous version of the C4 which was well made and comfortable the new one is a step up comfort wise. My only complaint with the previous model was the comms system. Bad placing of the microphone made it very difficult for riding companions to hear what I was saying. The microphone placing in the new helmet has cured the problem, which is why I have given this helmet a 5x rating.
Not cheap but Quality
An excellent service from Sport Bike Shop, I ordered on the phone, as I asked for a price match on the coms unit which was honoured. They kept me informed by email when the helmet was going to arrive, and it arrived on schedule. I wore the C4pro for 6 hours last weekend, and can inform that this helmet is quieter than the C3pro, but a little tighter fit. I am sure the helmet will give a little over the next couple of wears. The internal sun visor was easy to find with a gloved hand, and the pinlock worked perfectly on a cold day. I also found that the ventilation is more effective than my previous C3pro. Overall good quality helmet.
