Flipfront helmets are among the most practical options on the market. Let us guide you through the best options...
Customers have shared mixed feedback on the helmet. While many appreciate the comfortable fit, quality materials, and effective ventilation, they're often disappointed with visor issues, including water leakage in rain and unwanted closing at low speeds. Several have commented on the helmet's noise levels, finding them higher than expected. Fit adjustments, such as changing neck pads, improved experiences for some. Despite drawbacks like paint chipping and the buckle-style chin strap, many still commend its overall craftsmanship, suggesting a trade-off between premium features and certain functional challenges.
The visor and pin lock is very large, giving an excellent field of view compared to the neotec 3. Quieter than my previous helmet, however it’s not silent. Assumed it would be for the price, but in reality if you want silence take the car - Not the helmets fault, just managing expectations. Worth mentioning the decals are stickers apposed to being under the lacquer. The sun visor could do with being a little different shape and coated in anti mists as it quickly misted compared to my old, cheaper helmet. The Neotec 3 when trying on was better in this area (deeper and shape). The coms fit really nicely and look smart. Pleased with the purchase so far
Good vision and nice and quiet but not comfy around the ears .
Try before you buy, as I found I needed the next size down from product sizing chart. Excellent fit and good noise eliminating quality. When combined with the SC2, gives an excellent package.
After returning to biking and going through a few cheaper helmets, took the punt on a decent one. Well worth the money: quieter, comfortable, and the built in comms are great!
This is my 2nd schuberth helmet in 8 years had the c3 before the c5 great helmet lasted well. C5 seems to do the job the reason for schuberth as they have always fit me like a glove absolutely spot on and great as I wear glasses the Grove always seems to be in the right place. I've tried many helmets on but never seem right with my glasses on. I've gone up to a large this time I just felt the medium was a little to tight on this occasion as my previous lid was medium. Slight wind noise I've noticed in my left ear, but I'm now wearing ear plugs so doesn't really bother me that much tbh.
Not tried it in the rain as my old c3 use to leak from the top of the visor, time will tell I'm sure.
I went down to the shop in Kirton excuse for a ride out as its a nightmare through the post if it doesn't fit. Great service as always.
Having been a c3pro owner for 50k miles it was time to replace. Had heard the c4 horror stories so was a little apprehensive about buying schuberth again.
I have just returned from a week long two thousand mile trip and the new c5 was excellent.
Feels like a wider field of view and the visor setting was a big improvement on my c3. Position one give a nice airflow and not straight into your eyes like the c3.
Very quiet.
Chin bar is a little fiddly but something to get used to
Happy with my purchase, see what it’s like after 50k
My first Schuberth and I am impressed with the comfort and large field of vision. The pin lock is huge and the visor mechanism works well. Noise is ok, but I do have a Cardo Edge attached. Overall a very good helmet
Incredibly comfortable and quiet with great build quality. Only minor dislike that the internal visor does not come down quite far enough, but that is my only issue with this helmet.
Brilliant helmet, quiet. Great fitting. And the flip front is very convenient. Highly recommend
Replaced my C3 Pro with this (avoided the C4 after lots of poor reviews and so far so good. Went for the fluoro largely because it goes with my Blood Biker kit. The SC2 comms link so much better than the previous SCZu set up too but, despite price-matching reductions, it is still eyewateringly expensive
I've previously had the C3 Pro Womens which I loved and the C4 Pro which I never really liked, finding it too bulky. I upgraded to the C5 and wished I'd skipped the C4.
It feels lighter in weight, the shape isn't so bulky, the wind noise is less and it just feels much superior.
The only negative I can find is that, despite it being the same size as my previous two helmets, it feels slightly bigger. But I can purchase thicker cheek pads to make it a better fit. Also, Schuberth do not sell the iridium visors anymore which is an oversight on their part.
After buying 1st flip up lid by Bell, which seemed so noisy v my Shoei lid, after reading helmet reviews I opted for C5. Called into SBS to ensure comfortable fit, great helmet at great price.
Bought this helmet to replace my very old Shoei Neotec. Wore it for the first time for trip to Italy ( I know not a wise move). But felt like a well worn in pair of slippers. Comfortable for two 12 hour rides.
Excellent build quality, all the useful features that you need, eg drop down sun visor functions really well, helmet release is a good design and I like the way the visor 'remembers' where it was when you drop the front back down, interior feels plush and well put together and the helmet is very quiet. Built in speakers mak connecting up intercom a doddle, replaced my Arai Quantic and I'm not disappointed which is high praise. Service from Sportsbikeshop was, as always Excellent, took the time for me to compare this with a Nolan, Shoei and HJC to get the comfort right, really helpful and very much appreciated.
Excellent fit, pleased with the helmet
Really comfortable and light. Great features with airflow, sun visor. Looks great too!
Has all the features you need for commuting, and the radio is super easy to install
Very nice quality helmet, visor seals properly no gaps like cheaper helmets, good fit and vision.
Upgraded from a old C3 so happy with this make of helmet
3 shell sizes would be nice though
