Advice & Guides Flipfront lids deliver convenience by the bucketload. Here are the five best premium picks...

Customers have mixed feelings about the C5 helmet, citing its premium build and comfortable fit, but pointing out several drawbacks. Issues like visor leakage and condensation have been problematic, especially in rainy conditions. The soundproofing and ventilation show significant improvements over previous models, although noise and fit adjustments remain concerns for some. Several customers note dark paint chipping or defects. Despite the non-user-friendly communication system, many still appreciate its quality, acknowledging it as a worthy investment. The helmet's price and additional costs for accessories have caused some disappointment.
As soon as I tried my new helmet on I could feel the class.. the lid closes with a clunk ( like a posh car door ), the standard of manufacturing is palpable and it looks good. The only slight downside is the neck strap is fiddly to alter and still pushes against my Adams apple… possibly because it needs wearing in.
I went for this helmet due to other's reviews saying a) how well vented it is, and b) how quiet it is. All I can say is I'm glad I listened to the reviews! Couldn't be happier
Love the comfort and style of this
Top quality helmet and fit like a glove. Very snug and got the interrelated Cardo even though I had one I could have swapped from my previous lid. Just made more sense and is slick
Definitely recommend and service at Preston shop was 100% as always
The C5 is to replace a C3 that I have used for the last 5 years. I like the preinstalled headphone system and the SC2 intercom system took 5 minutes to install and is transferable to another Schuberth helmet easily. The C5 is a big improvement over the C3, the finish and quality of the internal cushioning is much better. Also all the vents and pivots and visors work smoother that the previous C3 helmet. On the road the C5 demonstrates its good comfort and soundproofing. The weight of the helmet considering the flip-front design is respectable and is lower that many full-face integral helmets.
I've always purchased good quality helmets but always thought Schuberth just that bit to far cost wise, I decided to bite the bullet & go for it this time.
It's just such a nice helmet to wear, quiet, comfortable really good aero dynamically you can feel the quality.
Good quality. Comfortable, coms very easy to fit.
As a confirmed Arai man this was a leap of faith but Arai don’t do flip faces. Overall seems good - material quality is not as good as Shoei and Arai but then again, neither was the price. Comfortable, quiet, easy to use. Only slight criticism is that they do come up slightly big
Perfect performance for money. I added intercom module and required parts are already in the helmet, so no hassle to install and works well with good sound quality of Harman Kardon speakers.
Comfy and quiet! Worth the money
Having tried most of the similar priced helmets I find this suits me for fit comfort and serviceability with the integrated mesh intercom.
It has almost no wind noise is well ventilated and the visor with pin lock has no distortion.
The feel of this when wearing in the store immediately felt good. Comfortable, flexible with the modular design and some great venting options. The original cheek pads were a little small for me, but I reordered with the deeper pads and it fits like a glove. The inbuilt speakers and intercom wiring is an added bonus so I bought the Cardo SC Edge too (saving the VAT). Great fitting and advice from the Reading store team and in fitting the intercom too.
Fit seems very slightly larger than C4 a had, so I used the Sportsbikeshop fitting service and got larger internal pads fitted foc for snug fit.
Replacement for my BMW branded helmet. Much quieter and tends to fog up much less even if the cold temperatures at the moment. Ventilation is much better. Integrated intercom is very neat.
No dislikes. Love it. Excellent serice from Sportsbikeshop. Only drawback is trying to register the extendend warranty. It's as though Schuberth have made it as difficult as possible to upload the invoice to avoid the extra 3 years warranty. I have given up trying.
Bought to go along with my E1, very quiet took a bit longer to bed in than the e1, but very happy, used on a trip to Spain and Portugal in the summer, vents are good, pinlock needed a slight tweek on the pins to make it better
I had left it a long time to renew my helmet but the difference in weight of modern helmets is great. Much kinder on your neck! After wearing it on a ride I found it much quieter than any I have had before. A snug fit but very comfortable.
Bought this helmet on a recomendation from another rider.
Exceptional quality and love the matt finish.
Have to say it is the quietest helmet I have ever had, it's extremely comfortable and with the adition of the inner ear speakers which allows for the Carda Communication system to intergrate seamlesly makes it the perfect purchase.
