Advice & Guides Flipfront helmets are among the most practical options on the market. Let us guide you through the best options...

Customers have mixed feelings about the C5 helmet, citing its premium build and comfortable fit, but pointing out several drawbacks. Issues like visor leakage and condensation have been problematic, especially in rainy conditions. The soundproofing and ventilation show significant improvements over previous models, although noise and fit adjustments remain concerns for some. Several customers note dark paint chipping or defects. Despite the non-user-friendly communication system, many still appreciate its quality, acknowledging it as a worthy investment. The helmet's price and additional costs for accessories have caused some disappointment.
Replacement for my BMW branded helmet. Much quieter and tends to fog up much less even if the cold temperatures at the moment. Ventilation is much better. Integrated intercom is very neat.
No dislikes. Love it. Excellent serice from Sportsbikeshop. Only drawback is trying to register the extendend warranty. It's as though Schuberth have made it as difficult as possible to upload the invoice to avoid the extra 3 years warranty. I have given up trying.
Bought to go along with my E1, very quiet took a bit longer to bed in than the e1, but very happy, used on a trip to Spain and Portugal in the summer, vents are good, pinlock needed a slight tweek on the pins to make it better
I had left it a long time to renew my helmet but the difference in weight of modern helmets is great. Much kinder on your neck! After wearing it on a ride I found it much quieter than any I have had before. A snug fit but very comfortable.
Bought this helmet on a recomendation from another rider.
Exceptional quality and love the matt finish.
Have to say it is the quietest helmet I have ever had, it's extremely comfortable and with the adition of the inner ear speakers which allows for the Carda Communication system to intergrate seamlesly makes it the perfect purchase.
1st helmet arrived with a faulty speaker, changed by sportsbikeshop with no problem. Sound quality is good and fit, L59, is excellent. Easy to connect to moby. Can't speak for wind noise yet as haven't used.
I have purchased four Schuberth helmets from SPORTSBIKESHOP and can’t fault the service from them, however, Schuberth helmets, as perfect as they are, have an Achilles heal. It may just be me but all my Schuberth helmets leak through the top of visor in heavy rain. Rain drops penetrate and streak down the Pinlock, making it a challenge to see clearly, this is even worse outside of daylight hours. The fact that these helmets are excellent overall, this issue lets them down. The comms system is excellent but again, it has its flaws. The microphone gets in the way when closing the chin guard, this is a minor issue as you can push the microphone out of the way but, when making dynamic adjustments whilst riding it can be a distraction. The fitting and comfort are exceptional IMO, I know they’re not to everyone’s liking and they’re very expensive but, this is a vital piece of PPE and you get what you pay for.
This is my third Schuberth helmet very comfortable and better ventilation
After inquiring about the fit of the helmet I was contacted and reassured I could return the helmet if I found it to unsuitable. That was good enough for me. As it transpired it was a great fit.
Helmet is very comfortable, a great fit for me. It is quiet and I like the venting and position of the sun visor slider. The helmet seems to be of a high quality. The X-LARGE shell is larger than my Shoei Nanotec and doesn’t fit under the seat of a Honda ADV350 - my Shoei X-L does - so check it’ll store in your top box if that’s important to you. Although the price seems excessive, I chose to have the optional Senna full comms system as there is no ‘only intercom to pillion’ option. (I have yet to try out any aspect of it as yet) Unfortunately Registration for the Schubert warranty (via internet only) was over-complicated, a real faff, and I mean a real faff, to the point I almost gave up which leads me to question whether Schubert would much prefer you not to bother! A shame, because I now lack confidence with the procedure for a warranty claim, if needed. Should I only give a four star rating because of that? Hmm! Sportsbikeshop Boston were, as ever, top of the game. Thank you
I have purchased numerous motorcycle helmets over the years and this helmet is definitely the best of the best. Very comfortable with excellent visibility. Brilliant!
This helmet is very comfy and as quiet as you can hope for. They have reasonably priced replacable padding which can help you get a great fit, so if it's tight/loose in any area you can adjust. The vents are great, though they feel a bit too easy to move. The main visor and sun visor are excelent.
If you feel it's too loose/tight don't give up immediately, the replacement pads can be thicker/thinner depending on your head shape and they can really help the fit.
Service from SBS always excellent, helmet arrived on time and undamaged. I’ve been looking for a replacement for my Shuberth C3 basic which is over 5 years old. Bought a Shoei GT Air about two years ago, good helmet but compared to the C3 its noisy and draughty. Saw the C5 for the same price as the Concept and went for it.
The C5 is comfortable, amazing field of vision with plenty of ventilation choices. Both the visor and sunvisor are easy operate. Pinlock works well and the helmet is nice and quiet beats the Shoei hands down, used it in windy weather with no issues, no rain yet.
A noticeable improvement on the C4 in terms of road noise reduction. Worth noting that the C5 has a different style of comfort padding so I actually went down a size from XXL to XL and remain a Schuberth fan.
retainer straps could do with adjustment buckles, pulls chip strap into your neck. Visor too loose, slaps close with bit of wind. Quietness overhyped a bit. Overall decent quality helmet and comms integration works well.
I had an old BMW front replace and tried one of those modular helmets where the chinbar goes all the way around the back but it didn't perform as hoped so I was back to the flip front option and this was as close to the BMW as I could get and it has not let me down. Fits like a glove, I bought the adjustable internal pads but don't need them so they'll be going back. It's comfy straight out of the box, good and quiet and does exactly what it says on the tin.
I have been wearing this helmet for a couple of years now (not continuously) and until recently it has been my go to lid. It is decent, a good fit, doesnt compress my cheeks etc.
But there are a few things that have slowly annoyed me. For one I find it quite loud. I know its a flip up front but still.
The flip up needs a more positive lock to keep it up. It drops under its own weight too easy unless you put the hard lock on it. This annoys me in petrol stations etc.
I thought the internal speakers were good, until I tried the Sena helmet. By comparison the C5 is tinny and even crackly id say. Phonecalls always come in too loud and distorted.
I do like the helmet. The flip front is practical and the integrated sunvisor is good and easy to operate, unlike some others I have tried.
I maybe just lucky but off the shelf its 100% tailored to my head. They do custom fit with inners being different sizes, like cheek pads with 4mm size difference ? They make all the difference, the best advice I could give is make the effort to go to the shop(preston staff are so knowledgeable)
Wife never had a helmet that is almost made to measure and they had there hands full alteration etc.
Worth the effort and despite the price worth it.you can feel the quality.vents are brilliant, pin lock works,1st ride last weekend 278miles.no discomfort, just a top notch helmet, reduced wind/road/engine noise ? makes intercom seem even more clear and easier to communicate at all legal speeds ?
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
