K&N Powersports Oil Filter - KN-204-1
Customer Product Reviews
A quality product from K&N
I always use these on my Honda along with the matching air filter. I consider these to be the best and worth a little extra cash outlay for the robustness and I want the best on my bike. I have to mention though that I have never successfully been able to remove them from the bike using the built in nut. It just squares off under load so I always end up using my trusted filter wrench to get the old one off.

Bought 3 as 10% off and no postage as buying new helmet. I get through 2 a year so bulk buying not an issue. Price was cheapest I have seen for sometime even before discount. Surprised to see additional -1 on filter code KN-204-1. Web search shows these have superseded KN-201 model. Slightly larger but happy will still be clear of centre stand. No problems with K&N filters and my Deauville is now at 112k miles. Replacement much easier with nut built in to case.
Can't always remove easily
Ive used about 5 or 6 of these filters now for my ER6 over the last 3 years. The filter it self is very good, never any problems doing its job. Fixing it on is really easy by hand and then just a little quater/half turn with a wrench, no problem. The problem is that the last 2 times I have had to resort to hammering a screwdriver through the filter to remove them because the nut rounded. Maybe I'm tightening it too much but the filter is also completely round too so there is nothing to grip other than the nut.
K&N powersports Oil Filter
Great Oil Filters never use anything else. With the nut on the end it makes it easy to fit and remove the filter from the bike. I've been using these filters on all of my Bikes for over 15 years now. Fantastic product never failed.
Where the oil filter is positioned on my SuperTenere, it's constantly getting crud thrown up from the front wheel. This has caused the filter to stick to the engine casing, this is despite being liberally lubricated on installation. The ability to get a spanner or socket onto it has proved really useful many times in the past.
