Shoei Helmets

Shoei motorcycle helmets - quality and value since 1960

By the time a Shoei helmet leaves the factory in Ibaraki, Japan, it will have gone through at least 50 pairs of hands during its creation. Shoei prides itself on making helmets by hand, and that's one of the reasons why the brand is so highly regarded by motorcyclists all over the world. Shoei made its first motorcycle helmet back in 1960 and has been responsible for a host of world-firsts as it's become one of the world's foremost helmet manufacturers. It created its first helmet with a carbon-fibre shell as long ago as 1976 and can claim to be the first company to develop chin skirting, integrated visor mountings and controllable air intakes to keep riders cool. The range covers everything from sleek urban helmets through to the most advanced racing protection on the planet. Shoei's racing pedigree goes way back to the legendary era of two-stroke Grand Prix warriors like Wayne Gardner, Eddie Lawson and Wayne Rainey. The influence continues today with multiple world champion Marc Marquez wearing Shoei throughout his glory-filled career. When you see the Shoei badge, it's more than a brand. It is a stamp of premium quality.

This Shoei is by far the most gorgeous damn lid I have ever owned! Honestly the pictures do not do it justice, almost mesmerized. The quality of the build is proper solid without being ridiculously heavy, being a racing helmet the vents are very welcome especially with the weather warming up too.

There is an emergency cheek padding release as well just in case something unexpected happens on your ride and your lid needs to be removed in an emergency without causing further damage. Great feature to have.

I could not recommend this enough, the design for Marc Marquez is awesome. This is the first purchase from sportsbikeshop and will NOT be my last they are just amazing. Thank you guys and gals, ride safe

Once installed this is an excellent comms unit. Obviously a premium price point (arguably too much), but it lives up to it as a top-tier product.

Fits perfectly in my Neotec 3, replacing removable parts to integrate seamlessly.

Sound quality seems excellent, although I'm yet to test it at motorway speeds.

What really lets this down is the installation instructions. You access them via an app, but there may as well be nothing there. Just a few crude pictures that explains very little.

They fail to explain which parts of the helmet to remove and in which order to reassemble. They also don't give any indication on how/where to stow the wires or where the antennas should slot in. You'll need to guess that for yourselves.

It took a lot of frustrating trial and error to get things right but got there in the end.

Overall I'm happy with it.

Probably the only flip up helmet I've owned that feels really secure, nothing particularly incredible about it but everything about it works really well... not sure why so many say its so quiet though, its pretty loud even for a flip in my opinion, but if thats its only flaw I'll take it.

I purchase this along side a Shoei GT Air 3 helmet to benefit from the VAT savings when you buy them together. I had a Sena 20s Evo on my previous helmet and this system is much better. The sleek look in the helmet is great and feels far less clunky, but the buttons are quite small and difficult to feel with gloves on. That said, the sound quality is brilliant and it was easy enough to fit. Overall, very happy. Service from Sportbikeshop was also excellent and price match meant i got them both for excellent value.
