Shoei CNS-1 Pinlock Ready Race Visor - Not Road Legal

Bought for the wife who always rides pillion and she's very happy with the dark visor in sunshine for her sensitive eye problem.

As a pillion I wear this visor in all weather conditions. Having the need to protect my face from direct sunlight (having had a mole removed off my nose) this visor suits me. It is clear enough to see in dull conditions as well as not squinting in bright sunshine.

Looks pretty good on my GT-Air Qubit, and helps dim the glare enough from the sun. I still use the internal drop down visor though when it's very sunny.

I've ridden with it at 8-9pm, when it's dusk and it's just about okay enough for getting you home. Wouldn't recommend it at night though.

My second of these are I scratched up my first. Kinda fiddly to get on but great once you manage. Lovely rainbow mirror effect.

Can't see why it's not road legal as the tint is perfect for both sunny rides and night time rides.

The dark tint is good - about the same as a decent pair of sunglasses. I found the lighter "road legal" version a little too light to be useful.

The price is high for what it is. Equivalent visors for other brands are typically a third to a half less but I am certain that's due to Shoei over-pricing rather than SBS since I couldn't find it considerably cheaper anywhere else - the listings and pictures for cheaper ones found on various auction and marketplace sites are quite clearly not genuine Shoei products.

That said, you're getting genuine Shoei quality. It's easy to install, fits well, operates smoothly and looks gorgeous on the helmet. It's pinlock ready and, oddly enough, using the clear pinlock insert that was supplied with my Shoei GT-Air, it works better than it does with the clear visor and I get practically zero fog even with the visor closed and locked.

I'd probably be inclined to buy a couple of other visors with different finishes if the price were more reasonable, but it's just about good enough to justify the price for riding in the daytime.
