Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
I wore these for a long ride yesterday with temperatures over 30C they really flow plenty of air nd being Rukka they have really good armour. They seem to fit to size. I wear a 32" waist with stubby 29" legs and the euro size 50 short fit perfectly. I also like the fact they will take the Rukka braces although the price on these seems a tad excessive. Nevertheless if you want a good pair of protective textiles for the summer these are well worth a look.
Bought the Rukka Vihti fully vented trousers as my other textile trousers (different brand) were uncomfortable to wear for prolonged periods in the heat. The Vihti Trousers have not disappointed. Excellent air flow even at slow speeds. I thought the comfort pad in the seating area was a bit of a gimmick until I was out riding, you only notice the lack of a numb bum when you didn't get one! Fantastic kit & great fit with enough flexibility to allow a comfortable position when riding without looking like a baggy sack when walking around. I bought the Vihti Jacket at the same time, please read my review on that too. Great service from SPORTSBIKESHOP and on time delivery by the courier.

I bought the Air Vihti jacket for a 3,000-mile motorcycle tour through Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro, where temperatures ranged from around 10°C in the mountains to 35°C in the valleys. I was genuinely impressed by how versatile it proved to be.
At around 10°C, a simple mid-layer underneath was all I needed to stay comfortable. In the hotter temperatures, just a thin base layer was enough. The airflow through this jacket is better than any other mesh jacket I've owned, making long days in 30°C+ heat far more comfortable than expected.
Another thing that stood out is the D3O armour. The elbow and shoulder protectors are noticeably larger than those found in most other brands, giving much better coverage without compromising comfort. The chest and back protectors are optional, allowing you to choose the level of protection you want.
The quality and fit are exactly what I'd expect from Rukka. After 3,000 miles in a huge range of conditions, I can confidently say this is the best hot-weather touring jacket I've owned and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I got these to match my existing Rukka jacket.t. They are expensive but undoubtedly are a quality piece of kit. Superb service as usual from Sportsbikeshop.
If is difficult when choosing a summer jacket. It’s a trade off between safety and keeping as cool as possible. I have just come back from a European tour including the alps. Temperature got up to 40 degrees at one point. For me too hot for a motorcycle. I went for this jacket because it had top protection, lots of pockets which did come in very handy and looked good. I also own an eclipse 2 jacket. You can’t compare the safety factor on both these jackets. The back protector is extra long covering the bottom of the spine.
Temperature an over 29 / 30 degrees you are still going to be hot. When it got well into the 30’s I had to take it off and ride in a t shirt as I was just too hot. Not good I know. Maybe I should has soaked a t-shirt under the jacket.
It’s a top jacket but it won’t be as cool as a very light mesh jacket but of course the protection in a £120 mesh and £520 jacket are very different. Uk summer it’s great although in the 30’s is beginning to be the norm these days here.
Up Stelvio temperature got down to 8 degreess where a wind proof under the jacket was needed, I think it will be ok on its own down to 12 degrees albeit a bit chilly.
For me better that be Marrakesh mainly because of protection and pockets. It’s all about what trade off you are will to take. Very hot days for a local ride 28 and over I will wear the eclipse, longer rides in 25 I will where the Vihiti.
I am 6’3 and 15 stone 12 pounds, with a 36 waist and 44 chest. I normally wear an XL. I went for the 2XL (56). Which I can use the side adjusters that work really well with just a t shirt and can loosen if I wanted a thicker layer underneath. Hope this helps
Absolutely brilliant in hot weather. The Rukka quality is class in these garments. It compliments my other Rukka kit in quality, finish and versatility. I can recommend this suite as 10/10 John Forrester
Always the best quality by Rukka, and always sportbikeshop offer the best service.

Very comfortable and not heavy while having good level of protection.
I wanted a summer jacket and already owning a Rukka jacket I was happy to buy this jacket online. The Rukka quality and fit was apparent as soon as I tried it on and I look forward to summer.
Purchased a pair of the new Rukka Air Vihti trousers to replace a pair of worn Fosair trousers which are no longer available and was initially unsure of them as a replacement as they are slightly heavier and have more protected amour installed. I needn't have worried as amazing in warm, dry weather which we are having more off, I just keep a pair of Scott lightweight over trousers with me for that guaranteed summer shower. Side pockets are a really useful addition too. I am a 38 waist which according to Rukka is a size 54, to honest I found a 54 too tight so recommend going up a waist size as a 56 (3XL) was far more comfier. Regular length suits an inside leg 31-32 no problem, will feel too long standing up but once seated perfect. Amazing service from Sportsbikshop as I was able to order several sizes to get the perfect fit and return at no cost. Expensive but worth it.
Bought to wear in combination with a Rukka Air Karvic jacket instead of a pair of (expensive!) Rokker jeans- and so glad I did. The fit is comfortable, and with proper, full size L2 armour rather than the small and thin 'ghost' armour of the jeans they feel secure, confidence inspiring and far more likely to protect you. The material in both trousers and jacket has a degree of stretch which makes them comfortable on and off the bike and both being rukka they zip together perfectly. Good size pockets. As for the all-important mesh- in hot weather they're far far better than jeans with the degreee of airflow only dependent on speed and the bike fairing. Brilliant kit.
