Motorcycle CE armour markings explained
If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

I had ordered a Helite turtle 2, try before you buy. I went by size chart and the vest was far too big. I am a 44in chest for my jackets. Great advice from Duncan in the Glasgow shop pointed me in the direction of this vest. It provides more coverage. Check out the review in Bennets for all the positives. I have worn the airbag once for a trip just short of 200miles. It feels heavy when you lift it but not when wearing it. I like the seat belt style attachment to the motorbike which is apparently difficult to set the vest off if you forget to disconnect it getting off your bike. You are not recommended to wear a passive back protector with it but the coverage provided by the vest makes this unnecessary. Only downside is that it covers the chest vents in my Revit Neptune 3 jacket but I have plenty of other vents. I would advise if buying an airbag vest that you go to a Sportsbike shop and take advice on the matter to ensure you get the correct size. I bought an XL and have the side zips open to fit comfortably over my Neptune jacket. I'm sure I can close the side zips when wearing slimmer jackets. The cost of the vest is also very reasonable compared to other vests. I am very happy with my purchase ( which I hope I never have to use in anger).
Recently purchased and so far happy with the product. I have no concerns with quality of materials and zips etc. I was between size M and L so went up a size but returned it to Sports bike shop as it was too big, the replacement size M fits perfectly over my Scott leather jacket and Halvarssons textile jacket. I usually wear size M. I have forgotten about the tether a few times and it hasn't fired the bag.... you'll not fire this off by mistake if you are getting off the bike in your usual way.
Hope this helps anyone thinking of making the purchase.
I like the lanyard trigger and crucially no update or subscription sometimes required for other electronically triggered vests.
It may seem heavy at first (2.1kg) but the weight disappears when riding.
Nicely made, feel light when on. Adjustable, fit easy over my winter and summer jacket. Rear cylinder is in way if used on bike with wide back rest. Front zip could be bigger. Still 5 stars product, will buy another for my wife..
This vest simply looks like part of my jacket, which is a positive over several other models available. It fits very well and is comfortable to wear, the only down side being it's weight. It certainly takes a bit of getting used to carrying those extra kg's around, but if it does what it says it does, it is worth it. It was easy enough to set it up, just replace the word 'tower' with 'frame' in the instructions when you fit the D Ring to your bike. Oh, the instructions also refer to every Motoairbag except the M1 but it's easy enough to work it out. The only other point to note is, because of its weight, you might need a pannier to leave it in if you're off for a walk around town, and it takes up most of one of them! Overall, a great looking piece of important safety equipment that, I'm sure, would be worth every penny if you ever needed it to deploy. As always....SBS, gave 5* service (thank you SBS)
Good service with SBS. Vest is great but we will see how it holds up over time. Bit worried about the Zip and wonder why bigger zips are not used. I bought a large and it fits tightly over my jacket without expanding the sides. I keep on forgetting to connect to my bike which is annoying. Hopefully it becomes second nature to attach.
