This is a great addition and was easy enough to install. I glued the indicators and had to use a hair dryer to activate the adhesive but so far so good. The instructions state that, "For the best results, the ambient temperature should be from 21° to 38°C." So they clearly didn't consider the UK climate. But the hair dryer worked quite well and they aren't going anywhere. The one issue to keep in mind is that the instruction manual asks that you install the sensor as high up as possible, but it also needs to have 135 degrees of vertical clearance. On my bike this meant that I had to place it on the bottom of the license plate, as opposed to the top. I've not had many opportunities to properly test the device yet (weather has been very cold, hence the hair dryer). I've got the Zumo XT2 to go with it and pairing the two was very easy.

Is the phone app compatible with Apple CarPlay?
February 14, 2025The Garmin Z mo R1 Radar is not directly compatible with Apple CarPlay, but it can be used with the Z mo Radar app on your iPhone, which allows for a full-screen radar display and alerts when paired with a compatible headset.
Is the Zumo R1 Radar compatible with the Zumo XT or does it specifically require the XT2?
