Great grips

Firstly, these are my first heated grips, so I don’t really have anything to compare them to other than the factory grips. That said—wow, what a game changer. No more cold hands. I was a little sceptical about how much heat they would actually produce, but I haven’t been disappointed at all. Although I always feel my left hand is warmer than the right. I guess that’s because that’s the control/power in and the right is fed off that.

I did find the fitting a bit of a faff, particularly on the clutch side. It was extremely tight getting it on compared to the throttle side. In fact, after doing a dry run I haven’t been able to get it back off to apply any glue—but it doesn’t move at all, so it’s clearly on there securely.

I’ve since fitted the same grips on my brother’s bike (exactly the same model) and they went on much easier. The only real difference is that his handlebars are chrome whereas mine are painted. Maybe the paint is slightly rougher?
If you look inside of the grip it has a few thin bits of leftover plastic from the moulding process, If you take a bit of time to file or pick those off, it definitely helps too.

The throttle side went on easily, so no issues there.

One of the main reasons I chose these was the subtle design. I like that there isn’t a big control box mounted on the handlebars—just the small integrated button.

All in all, I’m very pleased with them and would definitely recommend them.

Better design and quality than original model

The elimination of the control module and incorporating of the button into the grip is a big improvement in terms of function and looks, very happy with them. Also, the new connectors for the wiring are much better quality and appear to have a decent IP (waterproof) rating whip is a big step up on my old pair. Not sure about the £200 price tag but once you’ve had them you can’t live without…

Works perfectly, keeps your hands at a comfortable temperature no matter what the weather. Makes a huge difference on longer drives to arrive without your hands frozen and stiff.

Couple with hand guards to break the wind and these will keep you comfortable all year round.

Hot and hard to fit.

The problem I had was fitting the throttle side grip. Even though the throttle tube on my bike is smooth, it still required endless sanding down in order to get the grip to fit. In the end I had to remove the throttle tube when the grip got stuck halfway and wouldn’t budge. Fearing I’d probably lost both a throttle tube and the grips I took to bludgeoning it on with a plastic dead blow mallet. Surprisingly, both tube and grip survived, but it was a miracle.

The rest of the fitting was a breeze and everything feels solid and well made.

My only complaint is that it’s not very easy to use the tiny button to switch the grips on. However they are very warm on the high heat setting, so they pass that test and I use them on the middle setting mostly.

The built in thermistor is great. It stops the grips overheating when riding more slowly, or stopped.

Overall a good product, but really had to lose a star because of the difficulty fitting the throttle side. If you don’t have that issue, then well recommended and has converted me to an appreciation of heated grips. I tried heated gloves but they were an absolute faff and really did spoil control feel.

Very good product

Very easy to install with the supplied instructions, long wiring and pre-installed ring terminals.

They get hot quickly and maintain their temperature very well.

Once installed, the supplied glue is quite strong and the grips are not coming off. Make sure you are very fast installing the grips once glue is applied, as if you don't get them on all the way there is no way to adjust them again and you'll have to live with your mistake.

I bought these for my Suzuki DRZ4S as I will be riding it through the winter. Fitting was straightforward, following the supplied instructions. I used a Healtech Thunderbox so didn't have to hack into the wiring loom. They are easily controlled with the single button on the left. I got the sports ones as they offer the most grip for off-roading. They are nice and toasty, although I've yet to use them in sub-zero temperatures. There is no interference with the Acerbis hand guards i fitted. They seem robust and I hope to get many years of service from them.
