Good Grips....but

The grips work fine, and the heat output is good. However, when installing I found the cable connectors were flimsy to say the least. As I joined the connectors some of the wires pushed out of the bottom of the female socket and the connector locking mechanism was not secure, they easily separate and as these are under the fuel tank I ended up binding the whole wiring length with tape to ensure it stayed connected and to make sure it was robust enough. In addition to which I fitted a relay to control the positive trigger to guarantee the supply is cut when the ignition is switched off (maybe for my peace of mind more than anything else). The bike is a 2013 Triumph Bonneville SE. Very good grips, but can be improved.

Good aside from electrical connectors

I've so far had the wires come out of of two of the connectors, so I've had to repair those and use a dab of glue to keep them together (I'll find a better solution long term) - I don't seem to be alone with this issue. Other than that it looks like a good bit of kits and has worked well, certainly warm enough for frosty mornings.

Oxford heated grips

Good quality but cables between grips and connections very long for a sport bike which ends up looking a bit untidy - would be better if a sleeve provided (I ended up putting the excess into a cycle tube rather than muck about with cutting and reconnecting etc). The other thing is that if you don't get the grips on quick before the glue starts to bind then you can't get the grip all the way on! Glue sets too fast!

Excellent Grips

I have used these on a previous bike, they were fantastic, on the hottest setting, they were very hot! So I decided to get another pair for my new bike. These won't keep the back of your hands warm on a naked bike, so you still need a decent pair of gloves that retain the heat and protect against the wind.

  • Hello. I have a Honda Cb650f from 2017. will these fit on this model? Thanks

    February 19, 2020

The Sports or the Touring grips should be fine. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on each item. If you can measure the grips that are already fitted, the ones to purchase are the grips that require the least trimming to fit.

  • Recently bought a Honda Hornet 600 (2006 naked) could you please advise if these would fit my motorbike? Thank you

    April 1, 2019

  • Hi which would be the best for a 2019 cb1000r and is there any difference between the sports and touring models ! Thanks

    March 26, 2019

The Sports grips have a different grip pattern and length to the Touring grips. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on each item. If you can measure the grips that are already fitted, the ones to purchase are the grips that require the least trimming to fit.

  • Hi, I have a er6f 2015. will these fit on this model? Thanks

    February 5, 2019

These will be fine. The end of the grips may need trimming to fit - the maximum uncut and cut lengths are shown on each item. If you measure the grips that you already have fitted, you may find that the Touring grips are a more suitable length.

  • Good day. I have a Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 2018 I was told that my bike has 1 inch dia bars is there away you could confirm this and tell me the best one's for my bike please, there are so many numbers I am not sure which ones to choose from. Thank you for any help you can be.

    January 15, 2019

As far as we are aware, the bars are 22mm diameter, but we would recommend checking this with your Kawasaki dealer. If they do measure 1 inch, the only Oxford grips that would fit will be the Cruiser grips.

  • Do these grips drain battery? I bought these before and it did kill my battery although I'm not sure if those grips were faulty as they never actually got warm enough when you turned them on. I was told to return them for a refund as there might have been a fault with the heat controller.

    October 29, 2018

The grips should not drain the battery when the engine is running, unless there is a fault with your motorcycle's charging system. If the grips are left on when the ignition is turned off, the controller will sense a drop in the bikes battery voltage, and turn the grips off.
