Customer Reviews for Shoei Neotec 2 - Splicer TC-6
So this is what a comfortable helmet feels like!
TL;DR Exceptionally comfortable. 5 stars for the helmet, reduced to 4 due to overpriced by £100 in my opinion. I bought this as a replacement for my Caberg Droid which I used for less than 5 rides and hated due to the noise and discomfort. This Shoei is incredibly comfortable and quieter than my other two modular helmets. No Modular will be as quiet as the quietest closed face helmet but this one is quiet enough and a more than acceptable trade for the convenience of a modular. Feature wise this lid has everything you need and the ventilation can actually be felt through your hair when riding. It really is a very good helmet that is better than any I have tried. There is no denying that this is an expensive helmet but it is noticeably better than my previous helmets (caberg duke and nolan 104). Im still torn on the price and if it is that much better but you only change your helmet every half a decade...Read more
Wife & I both wanted a flip front lid as we tour a lot. We booked pretty much every flip front in our sizes at Milton Keynes & went to try them. The Shoei won hands down for comfort, none others seemed to compare. On the road it is pretty quiet. The vents work brilliantly, you can really feel the airflow when you open the vents. The flip mechanism took no time at all to get used to and the seatbelt type buckle is great.Read more
Nice helmet, but not as quiet as expected
After a lot of research, I opted for the Neotec 2 to replace my cheapo (£45) LS2 helmet. I wanted a flip front helmet with integrated sun visor, both features that the LS2 doesn't have. I had read a lot of reviews that the neotec 2 was one of the quietest helmets available, and as I'm intending to crunch some miles, I decided to splash out on the helmet for ultimate comfort. Upon first use, I was very disappointed as the Shoei is a lot noisier than el cheapo LS2, and a lot heavier at almost 2kg. However, it is very comfortable. I also cant find a way to install my Bluetooth headset / mic and controller, seems Shoei have designed the helmet to ensure you only use their intercom system, which is over £250! Nice helmet, but noisy and overpriced in my opinion.Read more
