Advice & Guides Gore-Tex not keeping out water? There's a different procedure to getting it sorted, and here's an explainer...
This glove was bought primarily as a summer waterproof and also to cover those chill spring and autumn morning commutes when a vented one will be too cold. It has a separate thin fleecy liner inner glove that is worn with the main ones when cold. In use, the two together start quite tight, but do loosen up and provide reasonable warmth - but no substitute for a full winter glove. Without the liner they are loose fitting. This isn't so much a criticism, but an inevitable trade-off between the conflicting needs of being warm and cool in one glove.
I first used them on a May tour to the Alps -and for that role they were perfect. I left home early (4C) and hit all kinds of weather, from Alpine sleet to heavy rain on the autobahn. Mixing the liners and just the gloves I was fine. Later on the tour, the temp got past the early 20's C and I was into my other [vented] gloves.
I ride a bike with handguards and heated grips, so that always helps, but overall these are really versatile gloves and properly waterproof. You just have to go in with your eyes open to the fact that this type of glove will always be a compromise, personally it's one I am happy with. It's not 5* only due to the price and the compromise - perhaps some stretch panels could help with the sizing
