Although you do have to drill holes to fit the mounting bracket, once complete the whole process is relatively simple. It's a well made cast iron frame and IMO a good buy if you want to increase your luggage capacity. I'm using with an SH 48 top box which is really easy to install/remove and comfortable enough for my partner who is a tad nervous with no box fitted. Don't tell her I said that. It's an good alternative to the OEM model supplied by Yamaha.
