Schuberth's E1 was the connoiseur's adventure flipfront helmet. Looks like the E2 is a worthy successor...
Customers have mixed opinions about the Schuberth helmet. Many praise its exceptional comfort, quality, and lightweight design, likening it to being custom-made. They appreciate features such as an excellent field of vision, integrated intercom compatibility, and effective sun visor. However, some customers highlight issues with peak movement, fogging, visor leaks, and noise. While the helmet is commended for its versatility and design, performance in varying conditions remains a concern for some buyers, especially given its price point.
Good quality helmet,
Functional
Only downside is the price
I was searching for a versatile helmet that could withstand both winter and summer conditions. This helmet boasts excellent ventilation and airflow, making it ideal for those prone to hay fever as it features a built-in pollen filter. Additionally, it has a built-in shade and sunglasses drop-down visor. The convenience of having built-in headphones antennas for communication devices further enhances its appeal, allowing for easy upgrades and the integration of remotes. Overall, this helmet is incredibly comfortable and I highly recommend it.
Unfortunately my new helmet fell off the bike onto a concrete floor and cracked the shell, I wonder if a helmet costing over £400 should crack. This is my second Schubert, it is comfortable, quiet, looks very good, just a bit fragile :(
The E2 replaced my E1, which I had had for the last 5 years, travelling nearly 30,000 miles wearing it and found that good.
However, this E2 is so much better. I find it quieter and the ventilation is far better. I have the Sena SC2 comms fitted which is also better than the add- on Sena system fitted to the E1.
The only thing that I am a bit disappointed with is that the sun visor isn't that dark, compared with the E1. But overall, very happy with the E2.
It took a while to work out out what I wanted versus what I needed and the staff were very supportive. That said, this lid is perfect for me, not too heavy and the integrated comms makes for a sleaker look. Well chuffed
Very good lid, nice and quiet. Bit heavier than anything I've had before but getting used to it (first flip front).
Flip, sun visor, main visor and peak mechanisms are positive and precise. Linings are snug, secure and don't leave any room for air to get in from underneath.
Peak poses no problems and does not make any noise/vibrate even tho it seems flimsy and has free play built into it (most likely designed to move with the air) but would agree with previous review that you may want to remove it for long motorway miles (takes seconds), as for me, with my screen, wearing glasses etc, it causes some movement of the lid which causes vision blurring.
Got the Edge intercom for it which is simple to fit and very good, voice control is excellent and would rather Cardo over Sena.
Speaker pockets were not over my ears so had to build up the pocket with velcro pads and move them back slightly.
Build quality is second to none, you can see where the money goes. Top vent is mega effective, chin vents need to be used either or for best flow, both can be open simultaneously but flow is reduced.
SBS staff in Bristol were brilliant in ordering in various liner pads to get a custom fit (no charge).
Would recommend.
The Schuberth E2 in Explorer Anthracite is a top-tier adventure helmet that blends modular touring comfort with off-road capability. It’s lightweight, quiet, and well-ventilated, with a plush interior and a smooth flip-front mechanism. The adjustable peak and wide visor offer great visibility, and it comes ready for the SC2 comms system. The sleek anthracite finish looks sharp without being flashy. Ideal for ADV riders who want premium quality and flexibility.
The helmet it is quiet as expected, you can feel the premium quality in paddings and everything, very nice with the integrated intercom but over 60 mph the peak starts shaking a bit which you feel in the whole helmet, i suggest removing it you go for touring and the other thing, the helmet is on a heavy side, but overall it's a good helmet.
This is now the second E2 I ve had (colour change) and I love the look for an adventure bike. Between the pinlock and visor you will get steamed up if you don t turn the pinlock pins so the arrows are facing the centre of the visor which make the pinlock tighter to the visor. The other problem which I haven t resolved yet is out in the rain on Sunday water leaks down the inside of the visor and I haven t been able to fix that yet ( it is a fault as it happens on both of them). Other than that it s damn near perfect ?
The E2 helmet in my experience is a great piece of kit. Having previously owned the Schuberth C3 Pro, the E2's flip-front, adjustable peak and combination of other useful features offers an ideal step-up for adventure touring. For those like myself who wear glasses for riding I found the comfort and fit to be excellent along with the enhanced visibility of a wider visor than the C3 plus the addition of a very effective factory-fitted pinlock. Although a tad heavier than the C3, I haven't found the additional weight to be that noticeable. The reviews from Sportsbikeshop provide an accurate and helpful assessment of the E2, including some criticism of sunshield fogging, which I have also experienced in winter riding at temperatures around 2 degrees C - a small deficit in an otherwise excellent lid. I bought mine online at a discounted price with delivery to the door the next day. All in all, excellent value and a 5 Star service from Sportsbikeshop.
Good upgrade from my HJC flip lid. Comfort is very good and noise / turbulence when riding is very good. Everything can be operated with one gloved hand, visor, sun visor clasp flip etc. I have a sena intercom system, and from what I've read and can see it will very difficult to use anything other than the helmet intergrated sc2 system which is a shame. It will mean using the intended partly pre installed coms system. I will probably buy this from sports bike shop as service is brilliant. Maybe there is a discount on this item too ? Overall very impressed. Wore for three hours and no signs of discomfort.
The best, most comfortable helmet I've ever owned. I would highly recommend it to all riders.
Complete cr*p bought this and the slightest bit of rain and it leaks inside of the visor then you can't see bugger all
Sent it back for a replacement which sportsbike shop are good for and same thing but worse this time tried send it back for a refund and the helmet just got sent back to me it might be going in the bin now it's useless to me
Avoid this helmet. It will leave you dangerously blinded by fogging behind your pinlock and rain leaking in behind the visor.
I bought this at 30% off. Even at that discount it has not been good value. I utterly regret the purchase because:
The top of the visor leaked on the first helmet. SBS replaced the helmet for free. The second helmet did not leak until 34 days in and now it just won t seal in stock form no matter what I tried. Helmet not replaceable this time. Schuberth not acknowledging the problem.
The pinlock, though 120, is poorly shaped, with the pin lug in such a place that means the screen will warp and separate from the visor - 3 free replacements in 2 months have all failed within a week;
The visor vent is unexpectedly noisy when open and really needs to be open all the time - it's quieter if you remove the vent cover completely;
The corresponding sc2 comms is overpriced. Only bought because discounted too.
A few positives, drowned by the negatives:
Huge field of view;
Comms clarity;
Comfort;
Otherwise low noise;
Sun visor;
Chin curtain and neck pads seal;
Head ventilation you can really feel;
Peak easily removed;
Can be worn with goggles, the only way to guarantee clear vision.
Credit to sportsbikeshop for their impeccable customer service and patience but Schuberth have shipped a terribly flawed helmet I m currently stuck with. Ultimately I opted to modify and fix it myself. Pathetic for a helmet at this price point.
Bought as a replacement for aging E1. Same size, fits really well. Good feature of visor retuning to original position. Quiet helmet. Bought with the comms system but one of them didn't work. Not SBS problem. Returned both, all hassle free and new helmet and comms set back within a few days. Star knocked off for not working. Sound quality is very good, comms easy to set up when both are working.
I've owned 4 schuberth helmets before this one and it is by far the best yet,the comfort of this helmet is unreal,if you're looking for a high quality helmet I would definitely recommend a schuberth
