Verified Customer Reviews for Shoei X-SPR Pro
Bought this to replace my Arai (that I dropped like a moron). I've had an RX7V and a HJC Rpha 70...this helmet makes them irrelevant. Immediately did a 2 day tour and the comfort made the Arai feel cheap...Visor is solid and the notches are perfect. Vents well, noisy without earplugs but so is every helmet to me! I must have a "Shoei head" because I've never been happier with a lid. Obviously try on before you buy as I went up a size from my usual small. I can't love on this helmet enough, and looks gorgeous with a tinted visor!
After my first helmet with the front vent cover coming off while riding, Sportsbikeshop replaced it with another new one.
The helmet itself is a good fit and yesterday was the first time I'd used it, which was on track. No problems with misting, good visuality and easy opening of visor. Ventilation is very good at keeping the old head cool while riding hard.
Highly recommended.
Moved to the X-SPR Pro after many years with the Schuberth SR1. The fit is great as is the air flow. Winter riding may need the chin deflector and vents closed. Inner padding comfortable. Sometimes find myself fumbling for the press stud on the strap next to the d ring. It's no worse than other helmets. The aero is great at low to mid speeds but I find the helmet trying to lift at medium to high speeds. Tucking in behind the fairing solves this . Might just be my hight (6'1") and the bike (S1000RR). Have a size L (59-60) and as mentioned before fit is the same if not better that the SR1. The visor is a little tricky to take off but once done the first few times it gets easier. Pinlock easy to install, have added dark smoke visor..
Bought X-SPR Pro to replace X-Spirit III model. Same size ordered and new model fits perfectly. Expensive yes, but immaculate build quality.
New visor easier to open/secure with a larger field of vision. Spectacles are more comfortable to wear I guess due to the new padding design which is a bonus.
At the time of writing I'll have to wait another few weeks to wear the X-SPR Pro whilst riding until the weather improves. But I'm sure the new helmet will be just as stable or better than the X-Spirit III was at speed on a naked bike.
Ordered Arai RX-7 Evo helmet at the same time to compare with Shoei. Unfortunately fit was not as good as the Shoei so bought the X-SPR Pro.
Great buying/returns process with Sportsbikeshop and have bought my helmets from them for years.

The Shoei helmet brand has always been at the forefront of motorcycle helmet technology since its creation, and continues to lead in terms of technical innovation, design, and safety. With over 50 years experience, they continue to manufacture the entire Shoei helmet range in Japan to this very day. The thinking behind their philosophy is that crash helmets must be developed to ensure maximum head protection, whilst also providing unrivalled levels of comfort. Ultimately, Shoei believe that a relaxed ride provided through comfort makes a highly important contribution to the rider's safety. The safety elements of each bike helmet come under one of two headings, Passive or Active Safety.
