Oxford Stormex Bike Cover
Customer Product Reviews
Good while it lasts
This is the third one of these I've owned. The first one lasted a year before the taped seams failed, the second one which was a warranty replacement of the first went the same way in 18 months. I bought another because I'm happy with the fit on my bike and the fact that it's good thick lined material, and I couldn't be bothered to shop around. At £50 I can't really complain. I suspect the seams failed because it sits in direct sunlight after about midday in the summer.
I originally ordered the Stormex Medium for my Honda 750NCX. Not big enough. Then the Large. Not big enough. Sent that back and finally ordered the Extra-Large. It still does not cover the whole bike, leaving either the chain or the exhaust exposed. Presumably the Topbox is the problem. But don't many bikes use a TopBox? And shouldn't the description of the Stormex Cover warn of this? It's of high quality but just doesn't do what the product material promises.
You're covered !
This is the second one of these I've bought the last one lasted a little over 3 years the cover is very good quality material is thick and it's protected my bike in all weathers nice touches like the belly strap eye holes so you can lock the cover on are good and just as a size guide I've got a Honda Forza scooter and use a medium size cover it's nice and snug and even on the windyest of days it stays on all in all worth the money would recommend .
This cover is exactly as described, fits well and seems to be of a reasonable quality. I internet to leave my bike out through the winter months, so this will be a good test for it. I can't comment on how long it will last, as it has only been in use for a few weeks. I do like the provision for a solar charger, for which I intended to purchase and fit.
You get what you pay for.
Having bought and returned a cheaper option when it split on the seems within the first week, this cover seems good value for a much more robust construction that I'm sure will cope with British weather. It goes to show you get what you pay for.
Oxford quality as expected
This is my second stormex purchase my old one was over 6 years old so time for a new one! Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Handy holes and pockets for chainlocks. Novel plastic insert for a solar powered trickle charger (solarizer) which I'm thinking of getting. Rain beads up and trickles off but will need some waterproof spray protector to maintain this level of protection. Medium is a tight fit over my Z1000SX, reaches down three quarters of the way over the wheels. My previous one was large but I found it too big, flappy and didn't hold its shape. Consequently, instead of repelling rain water it collected in pools.
Exactly what you need
I have a Bandit 1250 and got a L and this fits spot on for the bike without panniers or top box. Covers it all over and all the way to the ground. Feels and looks like thick, heavy duty material that wont let any bad weather in and has a strap underneath to keep it secure, Seems like the perfect cover if you store your bike outside, spot on.
Heavy duty product.
Before this I had been through 3 cheaper covers that disintegrated within a few months. This one is totally worth the money. The only minor disadvantage of this one is it takes a bit longer to place on the bike due to the strong elastic band and the weight of the cover. Bought a Large for my bandit, fits like a glove.
