Richa Typhoon Rain Overall - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Well made and good fit
I ordered the same size as my textile jacket and it fits well over the top of both jacket and trousers. The suit seems well made and has zips in the legs so you can get it on whilst wearing your boots. Not tested in the rain yet but by all accounts it keeps the water out. Well worth having for peace of mind if you get caught in a heavy downpour.
Excellent value for money for this suit. Stitching, velcro closure, zippers, everything is made to last. Size is normal. I wear L in jacket, pants etc, so I ordered XL in order to fit over those and its perfect. The only disadvantage I could find is that it is a bit on the heavy side.
Amazing quality at this price
I earlier purchased an iXS Orca rain suit but wanted to change it for a larger size, but also felt it was a bit thin. Opted for the Richa suit and wow was I impresses when it arrived. The quality of the material is amazing for the price, it feels as if its lined inside. In fact if you could fit armour to it you wouldn't require a riding jacket underneath as its really warm and toasty. Only weird thing is the internal bag and shoulder sling which forms a zipped pocket on the front, haven't quite worked out how this works, but managed to pack it into a 300mm x 300mm flat vinyl bag I had spare. Well recommended.
Richa just right for the wife
Bought the suit for my wife. Tried it on over her regular travel suit and it's an excellent fit. Suit fits nicely when you squeeze the air out, no loss if mobility and the closures are easily managed. Once you discover the location of the pocket it's a fiddle to pack away. Would definitely recommend it.
Quality tightish fit
Fit is a little on the tight side, but that does stop it flapping and it is not so tight as to be restrictive, just a little more effort required to get on/off. It is good quality and have had absolutely no water getting in. Very good product.
Overall it's a must
If you commuting in the winter this is ideal overall not to cheap not to expensive. My daily journey to central London from home is 90 min. I have tested suit in continuous rain for 90 min and I haven't been wet at all. SBS my first choice. Thanks
Ordered a small but needed a medium, exchanged quickly without fuss, fit is superb over leathers and will add warmth with lining so ideal in colder weather. Not used in rain yet but from other reviews expect to be reliable. Bought in sale aswell so a bargain, Nice!
Very good suit
The suit is great. Buy the same size as your clothes - it's already made larger to fit on top (I missed that part when I ordered my first one and looked 10 stones heavier when I had it on). You have to velcro it well, tuck in the "triangle" part at the bottom of the zip deep inside and fold the part along the zip, otherwise water/myst will get through eventually, but once it's done you're pretty much guaranteed to be dry. I took it for a 3h drive to Wales, rain all along the way and no leaks. On another occassion 4h on the motorway in total pourdown, lorries slushing and kicking up mist. I had a bit damp neck/chest where the water went over or dripped down my helmet and soaked through my neck warmer, but otherwise the suit worked like a charm. It's totally windproof, too, so if you pop it on top in the winter you'll feel a big difference. I waited with the review until I got a set of armour, though - I had a JoeRocket one piece suit before which should have been waterproof, but leaked in heavy rain around the crotch (I've read that even Aerostitch sometimes has that problem) and neck (neck was shorter than in this Richa). A bit too wamr in the summer and cold in the winter, too. Also, after heavy, every-day use I got holes on knees and around armpits (from kneeling and riding with a backpack) so I'd have to replace the whole suit even though the armour and padding are fine. Now with same boots as before, KNOX knee guards, either Fox Titan or KNOX Defender Elite, and with this Richa suit I have a light, safe, easy to put on, totally waterproof, windprood and WARM set. I ride daily, in any weather and I am able to ride in sub 0 degree C temeratures in just a t-shirt and a jumper for around an hour before I feel any chill (no touring shield, so all the wind on my chest). I'd give 4.5 stars only for velcro on cuffs and legs - they don't always hold very well, but it's not a major issue. Definitely worth recommending!
Good one piece suit
Got the suit, ordered by the size guide, it is a little on the large size but I guess it depends on the bulk of the jacket etc that you may be putting it over. Seems very good quality for the price, time will tell, it's a bit of a struggle to get on over my size 12 adventure style boots, but better than anything else I have tried. Only worn once and it didn't flap too badly and was shower proof, then I packed it into it's own pocket and it can be worn around your waist.
Good suit and well finished
Good tight fitting item with good elastic at the waist. Could do with a size chart but Small is about right for someone 5'6 and athletic build. Got an XS and it is a little tight with all the gear below but works well. and doesn't flap around. Good suit and well finished. neck has soft material finish around collar and good ability to fold into the big pocket on the chest. Recommended item.
Black and waterproof
On the whole good, fitted ok, not hard to get on as had to put them on in the dark. They are fully waterproof. Feels like a good quality product but the stitching could have been better finished off, had to reinforce some seams in the lining that were coming apart.
