Verified Customer Reviews for Oxford Filterbuds Earplugs
Our customers say…
Customers find these earplugs comfortable, easy to fit, and effective at reducing road and wind noise while still allowing conversations and comms to be heard. The reusable design is praised as better value than disposable alternatives, with a handy metal container for storage. Some customers note the fit can vary, with a few finding them too small or slightly hard to remove, but overall they are a strong, practical option.

Best i've tried so far.

I've got a bloody loud Harley and I have tried several other known brands without satisfactory results. These filterbuds so far are the best. Easy to get into place, don't fall out when trying to put your helmet on and they cut wind noise completely. Best of all they are reasonably priced.

Decent enough earplugs and probably the best ones I've used. Bit fiddly first time I used them but hopefully get better with more experience and good noise reduction.

A bit fiddly

Not as good as my custom fit earplugs from ultimate ear, and if you drop one it can be difficult to find. It comes with a cord which is a waste of time.

Can't fault the fitment, good quality joining string so they are harder to lose.

I’d say they’re ok but a bit fiddly to put in correctly

All Quiet

They feel quite flimsy however they are lightweight great ear defenders with an attachment, this reduces the chances of losing one. I loop the attachment cord through my neck scarf or jacket loop.

Nice tiny container......like the liitle string that connects them so less easy to loose ( like children mittens!)?...you can remove thus however of you don't like it

Depends on your level of hearing

Not as effective as I was expecting, but they do fit snuggly into ear canal and do not irritate.

Impressive noise filtering, IF they fit you
31 Jul 2026 by Rich
I put the ear buds in, without helmet and could not believe how easy it was to hear my wife talking. When i put my helmet on however my left ear kept unseating just enough to allow a lot of excess noise. I finally managed to get it stuck in enough and twisted, turned it, and even put a bit of vaseline on it, and presto, it sat. I went for a quick ride and marvelled at the noise cancellation. Then i turned music on my Cardo system and marvelled at the amount of clarity in the music. However the filter itself is quite wide and after 20 minutes of riding my right ear was in pain, and after an hour it felt bruised even with buds removed. I have since tried several rides and i can never get the buds to seat pain free in my ears so they have been swapped for earbuds that don't perform so well, but fit my ears. PLEASE Oxford, bring out a couple of size options. I am 6'2 so my ears arent micro sized!

Great when in place
27 Jul 2026 by James
If you can keep them in your ears they’re great but I find it difficult to get them to stay in my ears while getting my helmet on no matter what I try they end up slightly dislodged once my helmet is slid over my ears. Maybe they’re just not the best fit for my ears. The little storage can for them is great.

Was always using disposable plugins & a friend recommended these, was a bit sceptical at the price but having used for a month now they have been a brilliant buy, highly recommended & that’s coming from a frugal biker

Good value

Good price for these well rated earplugs. They work well at reducing wind noise whilst not masking everything else like foam plugs do. Easy to clean.

UWot?
03 Jun 2026 by David
I recently started having issues with tinnitus and also fitted a less restricted exhaust, so wanted something to protect my ears. I lost my last pair on a trip to Spain last year. These are similar but are connected with an elastic strap, so not as easy to loose. They work well cancelling most of the general noise and wind whistle. Indeed the most dominant noise when riding is now the muted exhaust sound....bonus! At first I was finding myself shouting at petrol station cashiers and my newest saying is 'uwot' when people talk to me with them in place...lol

Not as good as expected

Goods arrived quickley. Nicely packaged, I like the metal canister very handy. The earplugs themself I found were easy to fit but hard to remove as trying to find the tag difficult. As for the performance I found that they did cut some noise but not as much as the Laser Lite that I have been using.
