For the price, especially if discounted or purchased alongside a new helmet, you're getting a good and reliable product from Cardo that will suit most needs for most people. Installation is quick and easy, and setup is even easier. The buttons / controls are easy to learn, and the battery life is more than sufficient for several long rides (or weeks of commuting). Given the lower price, there are some features which may make you want to look at different units. The speakers are small and quiet, so can become almost impossible to hear at motorway speeds especially if you wear ear plugs. Audio quality can also leave something to be desired if you care about listening to your music while riding. You can also only connect to a single other rider at once, and this is over Bluetooth. None of this is a problem if you usually ride solo or with a single person, and if you commute more than doing long rides. I personally use the PackTalk Edge but purchased this for my girlfriend, and have several friends who also use it. Since this doesn't have DMC, it lacks features like voice recording intercom sessions, and music sharing, but is still a good choice for many riders, and certainly a good option to fit into a spare helmet you keep for passengers.

Volume on speakers could be better

I haven’t used this as an intercom, basically just a speaker for inside my helmet to hear directions and speed camera warnings.

I have played some music through it but the quality just isn’t up there to make it worthwhile. For calls, it’s great. When I took the first few calls on it I’d apologise for the ‘noise’ but everybody says they can’t hear my bike, and I’m on a cb1000 hornet with a racefit exhaust (iykyk).

It was installed for me whilst in store and I’m glad I let the professionals do it, I can’t tell it’s there at all.

Excellent product, sound is really impressive even with the wind on the open road.

These comms systems are absolutely perfect and far cheaper than the bespoke kits. It was easy to fit, does exactly what I need it to do at a fraction of the cost of other kits

The unit itself is good and easy to handle while riding, once you know the controls. The speakers however arnt the best and the louder you make them the more gritty the sound, however you can by better headphones if you want better quality. The microphone is good it can hear what I say very clearly. All the wiring was easy to set up and had plenty of extra length for larger helmets. Overall the entire thing is a decent pair to start with but id recommend getting much better speakers.

For a reasonable price, I find that this offers a good option for bluetooth connection to GPS and phone (I don't use the intercom feature). I found it easy to install, to link to my TomTom and my phone, and updating the unit via the app worked fine for me. As others suggest, the volume sometimes seems a bit quiet, especially when wearing ear plugs, and I find that this is exasperated by the wind noise generated by having the unit clipped to the side of my helmet. That said, the volume sometimes starts quiet but then rises to a good level after a second or two, so this may be related to the unit being designed to adjust the volume according to the noise in the environment. Whatever the reason, it can make hearing phone calls challenging. Nevertheless, I think it's good for the price.

As I wasn't interested in the intercom part, but wanted a decent product, I went for the cheaper end of the range.
So far it's been absolutely perfect.
