Fantastic Comms System

The cardo HD Spirit system was easy to fit to both helmets, a slight readjustment for one ear piece which was easily rectified. The sound quality is very clear when connected by Bluetooth. The cardo worked well during a phone call when we were not together. For now only been used as rider and pillion but this will be tested further as I will be on my own bike soon!

It was a real pain to get to talk to my wife’s helmet , our phones and our bikes. I struggled with the instructions and in the end I relied upon the Norwich store to help. They were fantastic and did it all in about 20 minutes and not a problem since. So once it’s working it’s great as we don’t need the facilities of other models. Ie just chat to each other and music via apple CarPlay. Range is ok about 1/2 mile with reconnecting simples!

What a brilliant buy, so pleased with purchase and ability to talk during the ride. Music and phone options are good to have.
Little bit fiddly to get used to pairing but once mastered, it is very easy.

Improvement over standard speakers.

I wanted the HD speakers to improve the quality and sound whilst riding, this one works great. Fitted on my Bell Race Star, speakers go nicely in the ear pockets and the mic fits nicely along the side to the front space.

I fitted this myself to a helmet and it works great, sounds good, has a good battery life, and for a unit at the bottom end of the price scale you can't go wrong. I would still be using it, but had another coms unit fitted to a newer helmet when i bought it on a deal, so hardly use this now, but it's there in case, and id have no hesitation i getting another if needed.

Loud enough to hear at 70mph wearing earplugs.

Not super loud but can clearly hear my music and sat nav directions at 70mph whilst wearing earplugs.
FM radio is good tho I find it can randomly go silent, needing a quick cycle from Radio to Bluetooth music and back, then it’s working again. Maybe a software bug?
Fits excellent to the side of my flip-up Caberg Duke 2 helmet using the sprung clip. No issues except hiding the excess of cables as there was more than my last intercom had.
Overall really happy with the Cardo Spirit HD. 2hrs listening to a mix of Bluetooth music and FM radio at 90-100% volume leaves 50% battery left. It audibly speaks and tells you battery life left when turning off. Connects easily to my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The Cardo app is really simple and easy to navigate. Would like more than 6 presets for FM Radio tho.
Easy to find the 4 raised buttons, they feel like they need a fair amount of pressure to press, but with gloves on that equates to feeling precise and has a good click feedback.

Easy to set up with the app & pretty intuative to install. Worked perfectly with google maps but we struggled to get two to pair for coms (not a big deal for me it worked for the pupose I bought it - coms would be handy but I've managed for 30 odd years without speaking to others on the ride ) probably something we were doing wrong

I have got to the stage in life when I need my GPS to tell me where I am going! Also thought it would be handy for listening to music on my phone.

The set up was easy thanks to the Cardo vids. I had a bit of a struggle to get the base to clip to my helmet but it feels very secure. Getting the unit to pair to my GPS (Beeline) and Android phone was a breeze.

The controls are easy to reach and navigate with summer gloves on - not sure what they will be like during the winter.

Only problem I had was the instruction for removing the body from the base was a bit confusing until I worked it out. Maybe this is something Cardo should think of showing on their video. The other struggle was getting my helmet pads back in place. Tidying the wiring took a few goes but I don't have miles of cable dangling.

The sound is great (I listen to radio 4, rock and dance music). I don't use my phone when riding (the world can !£%& off).

Mrs B my GPS comes over clear and this means my rides have become more adventurous...

Questions and Answers

Questions and Answers

  • Does this product support voice commands to Siri/Google?

    November 8, 2024

It sure does support voice commands.

  • Will these units only connect to each other and not several other riders?

    March 15, 2023

This is a Bluetooth-only intercom, and it s limited to pairing to just one other rider, with a limited range also. Being able to link to another biker should therefore not be the main reason to buy this particular device.
