Simple easy installation with lots of spare pads and spacers to allow the most comfortable fit for every individual.
If you’re in doubt about how to assemble just check out the excellent YouTube instruction videos, 10 minutes from starting to putting the helmet on.
SRL-EXT has the separate battery pack, battery to 1 side of helmet and control unit to other so it balances the look of the helmet out, yes it is a bit bulky and yes it does look a bit stormtrooper but when you can pull the helmet on and ride for 11 or 12 hours before recharging it’s well worth it, put your favourite tunes on & talking to your mates in crystal clear audio from the Harmon cardon speakers.
Music quality is very good.
Mesh and Bluetooth is as if you had the phone at your ear.
If you do get any wind noise just add or remove the spacer pads supplied until your happy.
The controls from switching on and pairing with Bluetooth and mesh are as you would hope, easy. the control buttons are a good size so no fiddly double button pressing.
I was hesitant to swap from good old ear buds but this setup is as good as a quality set of earbuds for sound and 100 times more comfortable, no more trying to lip read when the helmets on and buds are in and no more diving to catch the stray bud that pops out when pulling your helmet off. ?
All round very happy with the new helmet and slr-ext, excellent combo that are made for each other.

It works well enough. Connectivity is really good and connects every time. Buttons are nice and clicks but volume is low and the mic doesn't work with voice assistants very well for some reason

I had the shoei Gt Air for years with the 10u head set in and was impressed at the quality and design. Then upgraded to the NXR2 and fitted the SLR EXT and it's even better. Great SOUND and Battery life. Just makes riding even better. Reduces wind noise and also allows me to hear my Garmin Zoom xt. Overall just a great bit of kit and would recommended to everyone. Also like the fact you can adjust the depth in which the speakers sit in the helmet with all the pads provided. 10/10 for me would be lost with out it. I've rode for years with out them and 6 weeks lately in my new lid but just missed having the music in the back ground and helping remove most of the wind noise. The Sena is brilliant and like I mentioned I've had two different models over the years and the only seem to get better.

The SRL-EXT was tailored specifically for the Shoei NXR2 helmet. The main module and external battery are both curved to match the exterior shape of the NXR2. The SRL-EXT allows users the option of a quick clamp or adhesive mount. The SRL-EXT main module is installed on the left side of the helmet, while the external battery adheres to the right side of the helmet.

Mesh and Bluetooth Intercom
The SRL-EXT offers both Mesh and traditional 4-way Bluetooth intercom, allowing for compatibility with any Sena or Sena-powered device. Sena's industry-leading Mesh Intercom™ communication platform has two modes: Multi-Channel Open Mesh Intercom™ (Open Mesh) and Group Mesh Intercom™.
Open Mesh offers a single push of a button to click-to-connect to the Mesh Intercom™ network and features the industry's first Mesh Intercom™ channel system. Like standard handheld or CB radios, Open Mesh lets users switch between nine channels. It also supports a near-limitless number of users within a range of up to 5 miles / 8 km (min. 6 riders @ 1 mi / 1.6 km intervals).
Group Mesh supports a single, private group for up to 24 participants and the same range as Open Mesh for a more intimate group conversation. Only invited users can join the Group Mesh chat. Open Mesh and Group Mesh provide unprecedented intercom audio quality and robust connectivity.
Voice Commands
Sena's voice commands give you control of the SRL-Mesh system functions, such as answering the phone or starting up a Group Mesh session across eight languages. The SRL-Mesh can also connect to Google Assistant or Apple's Siri with just a simple voice command, allowing you to tap into your smartphone's features, including GPS navigation, music playback, voice dialling and more.
Sena App
The optional Sena Motorcycles App gives users a way to configure the SRL-Mesh device settings visually, including the ability to manage channel settings for Open Mesh remotely, or set a private group for Group Mesh. Available for both Android and iPhone via Google Play or Apple App store.

will this fit the original NXR ( I have the Marquez Black Ant NXR bought from yourselves some years back)

Is this device compatible for a Shoei GT Air 3 helmet.
November 30, 2024This is designed specifically for the NXR 2 helmets, however the SRL-03 is designed to fit the GT Air 3, and can be found on quick find number 898769.
