Givi TRK52N Trekker Monokey Top Case Aluminium Finish - 52 Litre
Customer Product Reviews
Givi, a name you can trust.
On opening the box it arrived in the Givi Trekker 52l Top Box looked huge but once fitted to my Honda NC700X the size of the box is normalized, it is well made as you would expect from top brand Givi, inside is a clasp strap similar to what you find in a suit case to secure any items, the locking mech & mounting plate dismount feature is simplistic & the 2 key supplied are strong & robust, I have also fitted the rear rack to the top of the box & I can carry extra luggage, total cargo weight around 10Kg, Trekker top box i would recommended to one & all, a great well made top box & I purchased at a great price with next day delivery for free.
Useful and stylish
This is the second one of these I have bought. I foolishly let the last one go after buying a bike with a manufacturers box fitted. I have since changed my bike again and went straight for another Givi Trekker. Great quality, Sylish as a top box can be, and a fraction of the price of a manufacturers one. I have a inner bag and can pack enough in there for a weekend away for two. and when I take the bag out we can easily fit two helmets in.
Good box with a cosmetic flaw
On first seeing the box my opinion was this it too big, its huge! Once fitted to the bike that perception changed to no this is a good sized box that will take everything from helmets to laptops. A weeks European trip has proved the box to be completly watertight with enough space for a weeks worth of light-travel gear and some space to spare. The small flaw is the outer Ali top cover, it marks & scratches if you just look at it wrong, also don't press to hard on it as it flexes and dents spoiling the look of a good box.
Big Case, but great
Initially I thought this case would be too big when I got it but when fitted its perfect on my K1300S. Space for two helmets and a bit more besides. Ideal for an overnight case for two and when fitted with the backrest just perfect.
Big but not bulky
Perfect fit for F800GT. It has ample room, fits two adult helmets with some space for gloves and maybe a light jacket. The plastic doesn't feel as strong as the BMW top box but only time will tell. Initially assumed it would be too big but rest assured it doesn't feel too big when riding. The width feels similar or smaller than the bike's handlebar. Overall very pleased with it.
Great product, great service
Obviously only just purchased this top box for my V-Strom but it was a nice tight fit to the SR3101 plate also purchased at the same time. It appears to be well made and it was simple to fit the replacement lock barrel that was supplied with my Trekker panniers purchased earlier. Both top box and fitting plate were packed/despatched together and arrived very quickly.
Very useful size box
Givi boxes are always good quality and I have been using them for 10 years now. I got this 52ltr box to fit 2 flip front helmets which they do (just) but a have brought a 50ltr cheap holdall that fits perfect inside the box so when I go away you don't need to take the box into the hotel. Beware, I found the plastic Givi rack didn't hold this box firm enough and it would move about on the rack so I brought the more expensive Ally rack which looks nicer and holds the box tightly with no movement.
I was worried that I may have chosen a top box that was going to be too big but whilst it is large it still looks good on the bike. Obviously it has plenty of room (two full face lids) but does not feel flimsy like some reviewers have mentioned. As ever SBS are amazing.
Beware - Rack drill indicators
The box looks really good, I don't think the build quality is as good as my previous E460, where the LID meets the body seems a bit flimsy. I've not done a trip with it as yet so cant comment on how well the seal works. However, I also bought the metal rack E142, beware there would appear to be two versions of this and the drill markers on the inside of the LID are not correct and need checked. Even then once you have selected the appropriate point to drill they are about 5mm out. Best do it the old fashion way, mark position from the top. Cant believe you can get this so wrong!!!!
