Pinlock Ear Plugs
Customer Product Reviews
Do the job
Recently bought the Pinlock Ear Plugs and have found them to be great at reducing wind noise, which was the main reason I bought them. The first day I had them I tried the smaller plug, but unfortunately managed to lose one. Thankfully the larger size tend to stay in my ear better and touch wood, although they've fallen out of my ear when I've removed my helmet I've not lost the larger ones yet.
Good sound reduction
On the bike I always use disposable ear plugs and when I received these free I thought I'd give them ago and I was surprised at how well they fit and work. The handy little storage box can also hold your bank card and your house key which is a well thought off feature. Well done Pinlock.
Follow the instructions and they fit well
Very good at blocking wind noise. Do note affect hearing in general, use of inter bike intercom still find. Noticeable reduction of fatigue on long rides. Recommended, especially if you ride more than 1 hour at a stretch. Follow the instructions and they fit well.
Use them with my Honda PCX 125 and find them brilliant. Up to 40mph, noise levels are now almost negligible. Between 40 and 65mph noise does increase, especially on windy days wearing loose clothing, but it is more acceptable and does not distract from my increased enjoyment. The end result is that I find I am riding much more relaxed and am far less tense at the end of a run. Given that my day trips average 200-300 miles, these little beauties are in-ear something like 6-7 hours at a time. They are so comfortable that I forget I have them in. Have immensely improved my enjoyment on two wheels. Best Buy!. Highly recommend!
Comfortable but pointless
Yes definitely comfortable, not sure if that is because they generally don't stay in. My first thought was that I'd got the wrong size, large instead of medium and that's why they fell out. Sadly no, the medium do the same thing usually waiting until I'm at a point where taking the helmet off and trying again is just a pain in the a**e. I did succeed in one journey getting the medium in on my right ear to stay in. It then took 5 minutes to extract. The box is daft, pointless and cheap. If I had a Gold Wing maybe I'd have the space. I'd recommend the Alpine ones which go in well, do actually let you hear the engine and come out. Daft white colour which quickly goes curdled. milk colour. Come with a nice pouch with insertion/removal too, and a spare.
Good quality and the box is a nice bonus
I am quite new to using earplugs and I can only compare them with the foam kind of plugs. Easier to use, possibility to re-use them, easy to keep them clean. Generally a good item. As of they are worth their price - got them for free with my helmet so I can't really say much.
Very impressive earplugs
Higher price than other earplugs for sure but they do a fantastic job and fully justify the price. So expensive? No. They work well on their own or when listening to an intercom / headset as they filter out wind noise but still allow other frequencies through. Comfortable to wear too (have even slept with mine in whilst camping) and feel like they should last a while too thus offsetting the cost vs disposable ones. The case they come with is a bit cumbersome which is the only negative I can think of but I ditched that in and used the case from my old Moldex ones instead. Get some.
Good but somewhat on the small side
These are good and cut out a lot of wind noise but even the larger ones are a little small. In particular if they are inserted to make them work well they can be difficult to remove as the tabs to get hold of are very small. Could do with a larger size and longer tabs.
