Verified Customer Reviews for Oxford Dakar Dry2Dry Air 1.0 Textile Jacket

Our customers say…
Customers praised the jacket for its perfect fit, finish, and high-quality design. Lightweight and vented, it provides excellent airflow, making it ideal for hot weather. Customers noted its effectiveness in temperatures ranging from 18 to 40 degrees Celsius. The removable waterproof liner was appreciated for rain protection and added versatility. While some mentioned sizing issues, particularly with arm length, the jacket's comfort and ease of movement when off the bike was commended. Overall, it was highly recommended for warm climates.

This jacket is great for our increasingly more regular hot summer weather. Just a T shirt underneath is still plenty warm enough as well down to around 22 degrees. The zip out waterproof liner is useful but quite bulky to carry around on limited space bikes. I bought a level 2 back protector to go in the jacket. Size wise I think it’s true to normal jacket sizing. All my jackets are medium and the medium in this jacket fits fine, a little tighter than normal but the large was too big. Bearing in mind you’ll only likely to wear a T shirt underneath the jacket. Like the unusual blue colour scheme as well. Why buy a summer jacket that’s black? Only gets hotter. Only negative…. Lack of two internal pockets. Good work Oxford!

Great Summer Jacket

This jacket has been ideal in the recent hot weather. The mesh knit of the sleeves and fron leaves you feeling cool in the breeze, not sweltering in a clammy textile or leather. The zip out waterproof liner has yet to be tested, but I'll be packing it in my tank bag for cooler evenings as autumn draws in. There's a suggestion that these come up a bit small in size but I found the Small a perfect fit for my 38" to 40" chest.

Having used the jacket over the last couple of weeks I can say that it does give great air flow through then main body and arms making a bike ride a lot more comfortable. Haven't had chance to dry it in the rain yet but the liner has an 8000 mm rating so should stay dry. I would highly recommend this jacket and the Sportsbikeshop as they gave me a great service with a quick delivery

Used for a trip to the french alps July 26 when both the UK and europe had some high temps. The jacket flt comfy with the waterproof liner and back protector in place, a little looser as you'd expect when the liner was remove, which it was for the whole trip. I wore with long sleeve sun block vest from Lidl which ticked the box. Armour felt comfortable, two external pockets provided a useful space but not super large, and a larger internal pocket with velco closure was handy.

The lowest temp we saw on the trip was 18deg and I did'nt need to add any additional layers, having the sun out helped and riding slower because we where on mountain passes potentially helped, at motorway speeds an extra layer may have been required.

Out of Folkstone it was 22, windy and cloudy, i'd say this was on the edge of OK.

The highest temp was 38deg and it was warm but I think anything waould have been with the exception of losing the jacket altogher and riding in a long sleeve top which I was'nt prepared to do.

For reference i'm 6'3" and 40" chest, jacket did not feel short in length or arms.

Good Value Mesh Jacket

Just used this for a 2000 mile tour of the Alps. It's light weight and the mesh venting works well below 30° C. Don't really notice it above that but that's because the air going through is warm. I normally would buy a medium but went for the large as a previous customer has said they thought is was a bit small. However i do find the large a bit large. I think the medium would have been fine. Doesn't come with a back protector. So don't forget to budget for that. My only dislike is that there is only one internal pocket. Could do with one each side.

Great jacket over all, although I have given it 4 stars because there is nowhere to store the WP liner when not in use.
I wore this on a recent 215 mile ride around the mountains and valleys of South & Mid Cymru and it performed well, from the 8am start in temperatures in the high teens (with liner in) to late afternoon when the temperatures was in the high 20's (liner out). Good fit, same as my other Oxford gear with upgraded back protection in.
The blue on the sleeves is much nicer in reality.
Not worn in the rain yet but been a god sent in the recent heat wave.
Great service from SBShop as always. Am looking forward to the Cardiff store opening.

Another great Oxford product. The mesh all over jacket really works in the crazy temperatures recently. So will be used on Europe trip coming up. Safety liners need upgrading..(why?) Pockets ok but could be bigger. Liner fits well and not used yet in rain but useful when temperature drops in evening.

Performed very well in extremely hot weather. (Up to 40.5'C)
Light and comfortable to wear, well ventilated and good weather protection. (It rained all the way to Plymouth ferry and performed well in the rain)
Folds up quite small and easy to tuck into a top box when required. This was a last minute buy for a hot trip. I was very pleasantly surprised with the jackets all round performance & comfort

The first time I used the jacket during the heat I was surprised how cool it kept me. I have not used it when it is raining yet. Excellent value for money.

Great value, green lanes in 28’ and didn’t boil (apart from picking up my bike!). The back protector is extra, but at the price I can’t complain
