Reviews The popular minimalist sat-nav is back with a second generation model that will have wider appeal than the original
Customers highlight the Beeline Moto 2 as a compact, discreet navigation tool suited for motorcycles. Its simplicity appeals to those who dislike cluttered interfaces. The latest version addresses previous issues with junction guidance and offers clear, easy-to-follow instructions. While praised for its functionality, limitations include reliance on phone connectivity and some desirable features requiring a subscription. Despite these, its design, battery life, and ease of mounting make it a popular choice, with customers recommending it for straightforward navigation.
Have not had a chance to use the item yet but looking forward to it
I have a Triumph Scrambler 1200X. Overall it’s a brilliant bike for our broken UK roads and the 820mm seat height means that I can stand over it, whereas the XE has a saddle height of 870mm, which would’ve meant that I would be certain to drop it eventually. (It’s a shame that Triumph didn’t offer this, more road oriented version with the level of components that the XE has.
However it has 1 major flaw - when the sun is overhead the TFT/LCD become mirrors and can’t be read at all! If I got a speeding conviction when I was unaware that I was speeding, I’d be really upset. Why is the law insistent that a speedo must be capable of being read at night but doesn’t seem to care that it may be non-functional on sunny days?
After realising that there was no fix at all, due to the curvature of the instrument, I had a lateral thought, “why not try a Beeline as a speedo”. I purchased a Beeline Moto 2 Classic from Sportsbike Shop, knowing that I would be protected by their industry leading returns policy. (I bought the classic edition because I wanted it to look good on my Harley FLDE to use as a direction finding device - the Harley analogue speedo remains easily readable in all conditions!) When it arrived, I took it into the garden and confirmed that there was very little glare in full strong 32C May sunshine before using it.
I can confirm that it’s readable on the bike, when the actual Speedo isn’t and that the supplied mount is actually very secure and has enabled me to fit it centrally on the bars, in my direct line of sight. The Beeline is easily detachable, easily charged via USB C and doesn’t use much of my iPhone Pro Max 13 battery. I have set it up so that I could use it as a “mini sat nav” IF ever required. I anticipate the compass function being useful. It is exceptionally easy to switch modes, thanks to the entire top of the device effectively being a 4 way rocker switch.
If Beeline realised how useful (ESSENTIAL ON SOME BIKES) it is as a speedo they would ensure that the indicated speed filled the whole screen in speedo mode. It’s such a clever bit of tech that I’m sure they could do this with a software update.
I haven’t used it as a route planner yet, I know that there are many, many reviews of it as such but I couldn’t be certain, from any of them, that it was readable in very bright sunlight, or how functional it really was, as a speedo, from any of the reviews - I’m telling you that it’s a great workaround for the cynical attitude of many (most?) manufacturers, to the real world deficiencies of the law regarding motor cycle safety, which allows them to penny pinch and not supply brighter, anti reflective instrumentation as standard.
I would’ve loved twin clocks on my Scrambler!
This sat nav is ideal for that classic bike, where you still want to have turn by turn navigation, but want a discreet unit. The phone app is very good at creating routes which are then played back on the display and in your helmet headset.
I am extremely satisfied, finally something that really works and is great to use and it is not big and heavy and very transparent to use. I am glad that my friend recommended it to me.
This is a massive improvement on the original,
It's mini map virtually eliminates wrong turns Which was a problem on the original it keeps it's small form factor so when not in use can be kept in your pocket, very pleased with it
A very handy navigation device to get you from A to B with rerouting if you miss a turn.
Not as powerful as a full GPS display but it will stop you getting lost.
I particularly like the easy route planning app, so easy to use.
The display is a bit small if you are used to a GPS screen bur after a while becomes easy to use.
It’s a colour display but the route etc is all black and
white, perhaps an update in the future will add colour.
Recommended, I haven’t found anything to not like with this device.
Clear simple display perfect for the bike and it doesn't burn through your phone battery anything like as fast as Google maps.
I mounted mine level with the speedo to keep some peripheral mission on the road.
Great quality feel, I went for Anniversary version so has a metal bezel. Looks like it was made to go on my new Honda GB350S. You have an unobtrusive view of the road ahead but yet all the information you need without the clutter. It comes with a mount that can attach via rubber o rings. Just twist off and put it in your pocket and go.
I trusted the reviews and bought one of these because I liked the idea of having a navigator that wasn't bulky, didn't need wiring onto the bike and just gave you simple info you could actually use - and it works. The display is really well thought out.
Much improved model. Easy to use and biking game changer! Been waiting for the updated model and not disappointed!
This is perfect for me. Simple display giving all the information that I need. Very pleased with my purchase!
I purchased the Beeline Moto2 for a trip on a 125cc from Lincolnshire to Portsmouth. With it being a 125 the motorways were never going to be an option. Also with limited dash area I need something small. The Beeline fitted the bill (or so I thought). I went for the anniversary edition as it came with a years subscription. Up to this point using it around Lincolnshire the Beeline was faultless. Route plotted for Portsmouth and it chose the A15-A52-A1-A43-B430-A34-A272 as expected. A few back roads and then onto the A27. All was ok ish until it started trying to take some random country lanes off of the A43 around Northampton. Get down to the B430 and it starts telling me to go right on another random back lane. I humoured it but after an hour of back roads I had to intervene. It was telling me my journey was over 2 hours to go. I stopped on an overpass (it was telling me to go another 15 miles on the back lanes) and I was actually above the A34! I cancelled the directions and restarted them and suddenly over 2 hours was reduced to 1hr! Once I finally got to my destination (196 miles that turned into 233 miles) I had a look over the sat nav and turned off traffic . The next day heading home it was much better but it still decided it was going to randomly try and change the route. I tried putting the route in again once home and again it randomly was trying to send me down random back lanes. If I put way points in it goes the route you want but unfortunately it really is a faff to put in 7 plus waypoints to keep you on the roads that provide you with the shortest and fastest route ( the Beeline even confirms this). Even reversing the route in the app causes it to change the route completely and pick a random back road detour and add 10+ miles on unnecessarily. It s a shame as I really wanted to like the Beeline but with nearly 1000 miles using it, it has fallen well short of the mark at any price point. Maybe in the future it will developed more and become more reliable but until then just can t recommend it. I ll keep it for a year while I have the subscription but unless it improves I ll not renew the subscription.
Amazing piece of kit love this does everything it says and looks great.
Great navigation tool for planning and executing a ride. Companion app is good but will do the same as Calimoto and view town roads as "fun and twisty" rides sometimes. Using the device itself is a doddle and really straight forward directions and instructions.
This is a great little piece of kit. Small compact, and easy to use and set up via the app. I have used it a couple of times, with no problems at all.
good value, and as ever, great service from sportsbikeshop
Great little navigator to link to your phone and the Beeline Moto app, simple to set up and attach, easily removable, graphics, visual cues and sound are well thought out to get you where you want to go. Plan a route with various options or record a route, very happy with the product and Sportsbikeshop service.

A very easy to use motorcycle Sat nav. However a smart phone App is required. The routes are clear and fuss free. I would recommend this for those riders who want fuss free route guidance.
Received this device with the cradle and case for free which was the best deal around.
I have used this device from day one and it has worked flawlessly. The minimalist look and functions keep routing safe with less distractions. A highly recommended investment.
