Beeline Moto II - Anniversary Limited Edition

Used it a few times still getting used to the functions like the route options

I had the original Beeline for 3 years and was great for trying to find good roads but was difficult to follow especially in towns villages and also getting the right exit from roundabouts. This version is a vast improvement and although I have still come of at the wrong exit a few times it is much more obvious you have gone wrong. It is not a sat nav but if you just want to go out and find new roads it's perfect.

Ordered a different device but it was too big and obscured bike dials. No problem, refunded at shop and supplied this alternative. This was originally an online purchase but this was not an issue for their Bristol outlet. Great customer dervice

On recommendation from a friend I purchased the Beeline Moto II and I couldn't be happier. It syncs to your phone really easy and is so simple to use. Arrived from Sportsbikeshop within 24hrs

I had the original moto for almost 3 years which still works perfectly but decide to upgrade and pay the annual plus subscription of £40 pa for the ability to detect police fund bolstering speed cameras after getting pinched doing just a few mph over the limit by a new and partially hidden unit with no speed check lines across the road. Moto II Is a much improved unit from the old one, especially when coming to awkward staggered junctions.

A pro is that although the battery life is much less than the old one (about 10hrs), i don't need to take the special cradle to charge it when on tour, i can do it via a std usb-c cable that i charge other devices with, but the main thing i really like the beeline for is that it sits quietly and unobtrusively on the bars rather than risking damage to a phone that looks plain ugly sitting there anyway, and just gives you enough information to navigate sweetly wherever u are, with audible beeps as you approach a turn from about 150 yds away, then again when the turn is imminent, and a different ping sound when approaching a speed camera.

Things i don't like is that the route planning is too fiddly when trying to do it on the phone itself, (not a patch on calimoto), and the beeline online route planner, although sufficient, feels a tad buggy at times and is still in beta test mode several years after launch. if you save a route using the online planner, you can edit it on the phone, but if you make changes & save it, you then can't re-edit it back using the online planner, and neither can you import a gpx file that i created on calimoto, and edit that either, or get 'back on track' instructions after a wrong turn on imported gpx routes, it doesn't work and they acknowledge that.

I don't want to get too negative on the moto's, because you can somewhat get round the limitations, and overall i do like it, but after contacting beeline support when i reported a bug about disappearing speed cameras on the map, and other suggestions to improve things, they initially got back to me (once) but after i replied to their email never again, even after asking for a reply, so i wouldn't waste your time clicking the 'tell us how we can improve' link, they really don't care, it is what it is and no more

I’ve used the Beeline for years and decided to upgrade. This new version is fantastic, so much more functionality and ease of use. Not cheap but I love the fact it’s not in your face and easy to swap between bikes.

Fantastic piece of kit. Used for a four day tour of Lakes, planning all daily route before leaving home. Able to navigate using the actual roads YOU want to drive rather than ones chosen by sat nav.

Good offer with free quality handlebar mount.

I love the clear display and it connects to my Cardo easily.

Directions are clear and usually in good time although I am rubbish at guessing how far 0.2 of a mile is but I have changed the settings so changes are given to me in metres. The turn by turn on the display are clear which helps as it is less information to remember so I can focus on the ride.

The only issue I have had is that sometimes it lags with when to turn or I make the turn and it says I have gone the wrong way - fortunately it's good as re-routing.

Being able to decide upon the type of ride I want is useful especially as I like something off main roads. The beeline has opened up my local area.

Overall I am enjoying the Beeline Moto II.

I was a huge fan of the first, thought it was simple and clever how it displayed navigational prompts with arrows and dots. But it did have it's downsides on complex roads/roundabouts. You had to accept you may go down a wrong turning every now and again.

Not anymore. This edition improves that massively by rendering the road layout ahead, while keeping the small form factor. Top stuff

Have had constant difficulties pairing the device. It took multiple attempts to pair the device when first out of the box. I bought it last minute for a trip to Ireland. Worked brilliantly for the first day. Thereafter refused to pair for the whole time in Ireland. Initially the advice it gives you is to "forget the device" in bluetooth settings on your phone. Tried this. Tried turning phone on and off. Tried uninstalling the app. Multiple time. Didn't work. Finally when playing around with the device I found an "unpair" option on the beeline itself. Tried this and eventually it re paired to my phone - after I'd left Ireland. Also throughout this time it wouldn't turn back on after turning off. Had multiple error messages, update signs and things on the display - only for them to self resolve, but not before long periods where it wouldn't turn back on. Once re paired it seems to have been reliable again. I'll keep it - but so far not impressed with ease of use or reliability. The map which comes with the app is difficult to use. Once you click "where to?" There's just an address bar and the map dissappears so if you're just looking for a rough speculative location or you don't know exactly where you want to go, or you want to decide where to go whilst looking at the map you can't. I found myself having Google maps up simultaneously just so I could look at a decent map at the same time. When it works- it's great and would be 5 stars.... disappointed overall.

This is probably one of the best upgrades I've brought for my bike, before I was always a bit daunted travelling too far and being let down by my phone, now I can seamlessly navigate anywhere and not get lost. It connects instantly to my phone, easy to follow directions and a decent battery life I highly recommend

I got this for creating routes & exploring the more deserted roads, or simply using as a backup when you can't remember every road turn in your head & this saves getting the map out. You can create routes on the Beeline website and they will automatically import into the Beeline device. Generally works very well but if you're in a dodgy signal area it'll 'freeze' and display 'rerouting' while its waiting to reconnect to your phone.
Quite expensive for what it is, and some of the accessories for it are extortionate. £49.99 for a powered mount? An absolute joke. I just use a usb cable and plug it into the bike. On this topic, they claim 14hrs battery life, which is nonsense. The most I've ever had before having to plug it into the bike is 8-9hrs.
Nonetheless, for me it works well and we've been riding new roads that we probably would have missed out if not for having the Beeline as a backup.

this is a good bit of kit. I recommend that you put a rubber plug in the usb-c charge socket when riding in the rain.

For a small device, you get a lot of information. I'm lucky I can mount it high so can keep an eye on the road whilst looking at it. Very motorcycle glove friendly. Shame you have to pay sunscription to get full use like voice directions but worth it. Much less distracting then when I had a screen.
