Oxford Alpha XA14 Alarm Disc Lock

Oxford have done a great job with this. Relatively small footprint and packs a powerful punch.
Easy to install, easy to set the alarm on or off, easy to store.

Bought the yellow one as its very visible. Like that it is rechargeable, and it is easy to charge. Supplied with tether cable so you remember to remove before riding off. The alarmis really load. All in all a good product, supplied really fast by Sportsbikeshop.

Could be slightly louder in my opinion

It's well made, easy to carry and gives a clear visual deterrent, but the alarm is nowhere near as loud as I expected, and more fundamentally, I'm never sure whether I've actually set it properly when I leave it. The instructions aren't particularly clear. Sometimes it'll give a beep, which I believe signifies it's set, other times it doesn't. I've read and re-read the instructions. Perhaps I need to read them again when I'm not in a rush....

But thats the point. Small enough to go in a tank bag or pocket. Bit fiddly to set and very sensitive but looks the part in yellow as a deterrent. The free reminder cable has stopped me setting if of a few times. Recommended.

It seems a good solid, highly visible lock and fits under my seat nicely.

Product was delivered swiftly unfortunately the product had been opened and the mini charge cable taken from inside. Disappointed really but product still usable.

Needed a disc lock to satisfy insurance. The Oxford being Sold Secure rated fitted the bill and SBS had them at a very good price. Next day delivery, usual excellent SBS service. Lock feels very solid and the 24mm pin looks strong. The added alarm, whilst not itself part of the Sold Secure rating just adds another layer to the protection.

Excellent delivery from Sportsbikeshop and the lock looks the part. Bright and loud ! However, after 2 months a speaker problem meant the alarm volume wasn't enough to scare a child. Sportsbikeshop were excellent in communication and organising a return. Unfortunately again DPD lost the return and the bike was not alarmed for a few days. Sportsbikeshop stepped up again and took control of locating the return. They then sent out a new alarm lock next day. Thanks to them the bike is safe and secure again.

It takes a couple of seconds of the shrill alarm before you remember the instructions when using for the first time but other than that, it's spot on. Quite small and tapered in every direction, so it wedges easily in the limited space under my saddle but weighty to give that indestructible feel. Rechargeable too, so nothing to say against it.

I just bought my first bike. This disc lock with alarm, gives security and peace of mind, when leaving the bike unattended.

This disclock has a loud & sensitive alarm.
It's good value for money and is a Sold secure rated product.
The rechargeable alarm module is fairly easy to remove and charge and the battery lasts a long time.

It locks the disc, makes loud noises if tampered with. Very good, very nice. It’s also yellow.

Simple disc lock and invaluable for bike safety, I always carry this with me. Get yourself one and help protect your bike.
