Oxford Alpha XA14 Alarm Disc Lock

I wouldn't use this as a primary device as there are stronger and louder devices out there, however as a secondary form of security it is a great piece of kit

Not too sensitive so tis good for accidental moves.. Really loud

Easy to fit on to disc and makes a loud noise if moved

Very easy to connect to brake discs. Simple to insert key and push either once or twice, to select alarm or no alarm.

I have been considering an additional safety device for when parking up and so consulted the SBS website. A disc lock was my first choice and there was a wide range to select from. With reviews in abundance, I started to narrow down the selection. I like that MCN reviews are often included where possible which also helps the process. I eventually decided on Oxford products as they seem to get most things right. Eventually I narrowed it down to the Alpha XA14, compact, with some bulk. On delivery I was very pleased with the lock. It is clearly well made; I like the locking mechanism, the alarm function and ease of use. I went for the yellow option as it is more visible when engaged. For the price, this is a very reasonable purchase for a quality lock, and I am sure it will deter all but the most determined of wrong-uns.

Can be locked with or without alarm active. Battery lasted longer than 3 months but they recommend charging it at that point. Good deterrent and best to use in conjunction with another security device for longer periods of time.

Good wee disc lock, definitely loud enough to be noticed if you set the alarm off.

A heavy steel lock which can fit in a pocket, bright yellow with a loud tamper alarm. Good value for the price.

Well worth it to go along with whatever else you're using to secure your bike. Straightforward, compact and simple to use.

Certainly a loud siren, personally I wouldn’t want to stay around when it goes off

I prefer this now over the Screamer. The alarm does not malfunction in cold weather like Screamer does!

Good lock, pretty loud, battery lasts a good time, not overly sensitive. Would recommend.
