Oxford Alpha XA14 Alarm Disc Lock

Good and sturdy product. Had someone try to break it off my front disk while I was at work - break disk is bent but the lock only had dents on it - clearly did it's job.

Easy to use, looks serious and with the bright yellow minder cable makes for a convincing deterrent. Not too expensive especially with Sports Bike Shop price match promise.... Hopefully I'll never find out if it works or not...!

Looks like a sturdy product but a bit bulky to carry easily. Being able to turn the alarm off is useful but sometimes when putting the lock on, you can accidentally double press the barrel and have to start again. To charge the alarm, you have to remove it from the main body and the small grub screw can be easily lost. No spare is provided.

My 4th or 5th Oxford lock: quality didn't disappoint: Some mention the alarm on/off selection is a little tricky but after the first couple of times of trying ( and reading the manual!! ) there were no problems. Excellent value for money and usual superb SportsBikeShop service.

Reasonably priced, well packaged, quick next day delivery by Sportsbike Shop, loud enough to be effective, small enough to be easily carried in your pocket/tank bag etc.only dislike is the 'free' yellow reminder cable it came with as this was quite thin and flimsy and could do with being a bit longer.

I like the build quality, ease of use and that it’s easy to recharge.

Very robust feeling lock and with built in alarm and the ability to charge via usb cable is ideal. Very Pleased. Fits my Z650rs perfectly.

This does what it’s meant to it’s visible so acts as a deterrent, the audio noise is loud so alerts. Luckily no one’s tried to steal my bike so I don’t know how affective it really is.
Downsides - it doesn’t come with a carrying pouch, the battery can only be accessed using the long alan key that comes with it and is a little fiddly to remove.

This is a great wee lock. Anyone moves the bike or interferes with the lock and it gives out a piercing sounds. Battery lasts a few months between charges which are no hassle at all. Use the Allen key provided to remove a grub screw and out pops the electronic unit to charge. For £50 at the time it’s been well worth the money. Good price of mind too knowing it’ll tell me if there’s anyone up to no good at my bike, and from a distance too.

Super bright, super loud and has done the job!
Small enough to throw in my pocket for when out and about.

I like that it feels and looks substantial, and I'm sure it would act as a very visible deterrent to all but the most determined and equipped thief. The instructions are not clear at describing the locking and unlocking procedures. Fortunately there are YouTube videos for that (why can't Oxford make a video?). I don't like the unnecessarily loud bleep it makes when the lock is engaged, and it could cause annoyance if you were to do it late at night or early morning.

Built well & very strong all works as it should takes quite a bit of movement to set the alarm off.
The alarm is loud & it does come with a warning strap for the handle bars.
All in all very happy with my purchase
