Oxford Alpha XA14 Alarm Disc Lock

Purchased this to replace an Oxford Screamer as it has a sold secure rating. Seems a good solid lock but the alarm isn’t that loud.

I recently purchased the Oxford Alpha XA14 following reading some very good reviews. The alarm is a very bright yellow and hopefully that may be enough to deter the average walker by interested in your motorcycle. Once passed the eyeball test and becoming more serious, the alarm gives off a very high pitched shrill tone which if in the same room/garage is a little hard to stay by. The next line of defence is that the material the lock is made from is difficult to cut even with a grinder. So hopefully by this time they've either given up because they can't hear very well or they have left because too many other people have heard it and come to ones aid. Whichever, its a very sturdy lock and definitely looks the part. If they uplift the bike put it in a van and can put up with the sound levels, well nothing is going to stop them.

Easy to use. Makes loud siren when triggered. Should make it slightly harder for nasty men to take bike... Just another deterant at the end of the day. I carry 2 disk locks and a heavy chain on occasion.

Nice solid feeling disc lock. Alarm is loud enough and I found it easy enough to set unlike some other reviewers. Comes with 3 keys and a handlebar strap. Was also a selectable product with my insurer. Recommended.

Very impressed with this item once I’d fully charged it, it was ready to go

I've kept it as changing bikes soon but doesn't fit my Yamaha discs.
I can still use it attached to the spokes and the yellow telephone cable is a good visual cue both to show that the bike is locked and to stop you trying to ride off without remembering to remove it.

With the included lanyard on my handlebars I dont forget it and try to ride off! Its bright in yellow so easily noticed by thieving wannabes and it has an alarm which is relatively easy to charge when needed. Its been on my bike now in the garage and on rides for a few weeks now and its a nice bit of added security for not much weight.

Solid and heavy piece of kit. Reassuring.
Instructions easy to follow - only need reading once. Easy fit on my front disc (Honda NC750X).
And the alarm is piercing. Easy reset, and easy battery removal if required. Handy USB-C charging (almost default, now).
Recommended and good value for money.

Very good and simple to use

Used this disc lock for a few years, Its loud enough and ive not had any false alarms with it. Still used every time I tour.
