I’ve got this for the alarm but it seems to have a high threshold for activating. I use it as a visual deterrent and would rely on it but it’s light to carry around.

When I first had it I accidentally set it off whilst it was still in my hand!! Gosh it’s loud close up Lol . Once you know how it works, how you set it, I think it’s a pretty good deterrent. I use mine along with a disc lock for a bit more security (I hope).

Easy to fit and obvious deterent

This is larger than it looks, probably about 6-7" (so larger than my pocket) but I have luggage so it goes in there when I'm on the move. Possibly better than a disc lock as you really can't set off with it still in position (nod to mate who did that once, much to our amusement :-) ). It easily fits on my 1" bars, you just need to pull the brake lever in a bit to get the lock closed then you lock it to set the alarm (unlike the Screamers where you just push in the pin). It's not big enough to go on my other bike which has 1" bars and Oxford heated grips, so maybe check first. A long expiry battery was provided and sealed in plastic initially so you'll have to get to it to remove the wrapper. Open the lock and you'll see that it says 'battery' and 'alarm'. There's a small tab / lug near the lock pin which needs to be gently prised away from the pin to release the battery compartment - a small electrical screwdriver works well. Unfortunately there are no instructions to remove the battery but the SportsBikeShop staff sent me a pdf so just ask if you need it. Happy so far!

Although this could easily be cut in half with a grinder I’m using it in conjunction with the Oxford X14 disc lock which would be a lot more challenging. But it’s another deterrent to the would be thieves. I got the bright yellow one as in my mind the more visible the device the better (maybe they will see it at a distance and think twice! Probably a little naive of me but still) and with the 120 decibels on the lever lock hopefully they’ll scarper!! I recommend one to anyone with a bike and there are cheaper versions of this exact product but with a different brand. Nice and lightweight so it won’t feel like a brick in your pocket. high viz & 3 keys.

I got this alarm as my classic bike doesn't have disc brakes, so my usual disc lock is no good. Not 5 stars as I found it very difficult to get to the battery, hopefully it lasts a long time as I don't want to do that again soon

Wanted something easy to carry around no matter where I'm going, and have peace of mind I have a decent lock fitted.

The alarm is an added bonus as it's acts as a deterrent should someone attempt to tamper with it

Quality of the product is what is to be expected by Oxford, amazing!

I was surprised to see that it was made out of plastic, but then again, if you're trying to break into it, the alarm, hopefully will be screaming in your ears!
