Reviews Shoei's popular sports-touring helmet series comes bang up to date with the GT-Air 3

Customers generally praised the Shoei helmet's quality, comfort, and fit, although some faced issues with chin straps and visor mechanisms. Reviewers frequently noted the excellent finish and effective sun visor. However, a few customers experienced discomfort with accessories like communication systems and faced challenges with ventilation or noise. Many appreciated the helmet's premium feel, despite its higher price. Customers also highlighted the helmet as a superior choice with quick-release features and attractive design elements. Overall, the helmet received strong endorsements for performance and craftsmanship.
Good points... Usual Shoei comfort, fits well, visor mechanism is good, lining is soft, sun visor mechanism works well and feels solid, reasonably quiet, great finish and design on the helmet, looks stunning.
Bad point... The sun visor seems to mist a little too easily in cold air. It's ok when moving but when you stop it's better if you lift the sun visor until you're on the move again.
Absolutely best helmet ive ever brought. Perfect fit, so comfy wouldnt even know I got it on. Bought the intercom system for it too. Just perfect, thanks also to the great staff at sportsbikeshop Birmingham, great service
The visibility through and function of the visor is excellent. I was surprised how good it is. Comfort felt stiff at first, but became formed and super comfortable within 5 minutes.
This fit and the quality construction makes this helmet unbelievably quiet. Really astonishing.
Design is smart, the weight belies its feel.
Air movement is like nothing I’ve experienced prior to this. Opening up chin and top vent ensures amazing cooling/humidity control. Breath guard is very effective.
Having previously used an X-lite 903, which was very comfortable, I was looking for a new helmet due to issues with visor function, and general wear in the cushioning.
Can’t recommend it enough. The quality design speaks in its utility.
The pictures of this helmet do not do the colours justice, really god looking helmet, very comfetable
Had the GT air 2 for nearly five years till I dropped it. Bought another cheaper model helmet and quickly noticed you get what you pay for so bought the GT air 3 when it was on offer, good move as did the NC500 and a bit more over 3 days and was comfortable and and quiet even better than the previous model. Only issue is a small one, the chin strap can dig in a bit sometimes which I didn't notice on the older version.
Replacement for my GT air 2. Very comfortable helmet for me. Seems quieter that previous iteration..
This helmet is excellent (and looks great).
Size S was too small for me, and Size M felt a tad too large. With thicker Shoei cheek pads, I was able to have the perfect fit (snug but still comfy). Great customer service from SBS, it was great to be able to compare the options with custom padding.
Comfy. Quiet compared to my last one.
On trying several helmets I decided that this was the better helmet for me, I bought a small size and it was snug, but within a short time of use it now fits comfortably, light, quite and good visibility.
Well-made comfortable helmet with all the bells and whistles for touring, but the visor release mechanism is stiff and fiddly.
Great fit and looks amazing.
Worth paying a bit more for the high quality product that fits perfectly. As ever, high quality product.
A £650 helmet that doesn’t disappoint! I had the GT-Air 1 and this is a really good upgrade while staying true to what the original model was. Feels a little quieter and lighter but it’s hard to say for certain. The comms are a game changer though, a bit of a fiddle to fit but they are super neat once done. I would highly recommend if you were a fan of the other models
New range of helmets are what you would expect from Shoei. I got slight thicker cheek pads fitted and everything is comfortably snug. Strap closure feels secure and visor movement is positive. Well vented and easy to operate vents on chin and head. No noticeable reduction in wind noise from previous models. The Cardo adapter clips on tightly and feels solid in place.
Excellent service quick delivery did get the wrong side was easy to exchange Excellent customer service
Watched an online review of this before I purchased it to see its features and benefits. Yes, it's a lot of money but I'm really pleased with the comfortable fit and all it comes with.
Although I haven’t used this helmet for long, I have tested it by wearing it for large amounts of time and I can confirm it is very comfortable and I believe it’ll be my go to helmet for long touring rides out!
I recently purchased the Shoei GT-Air 3 helmet from Sportbikeshop's Birmingham branch and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They took the time to understand my needs and helped me find the perfect helmet.
The helmet itself is amazing. It truly fits like a glove, providing a snug and secure fit that's also incredibly comfortable for long rides. One of the biggest surprises has been how quiet it is, even at higher speeds. It's made a huge difference to my riding experience, reducing wind noise and fatigue.
Overall, a top-notch product and an even better service. I highly recommend both the Shoei GT-Air 3 and Sportbikeshop's Birmingham team!
