Reviews Shoei's popular sports-touring helmet series comes bang up to date with the GT-Air 3
Customers praise the helmet’s quality finish, comfort and accurate fit, with several saying it feels premium and quiet. The central visor release and quick-release strap are widely liked, and the built-in sun visor is seen as useful. Some customers mention sizing can feel tighter than expected, while others note issues with the chin strap, visor mechanism, or ventilation. Overall, many consider it a worthwhile upgrade and strongly recommend it.
This is a very comfortable helmet, lighter than my previous one and easy to put on and take off. I like the fact that it seamlessly integrates a comms system, which can be heard clearly even at 70MPH.
Best helmet I’ve ever had, this is my second Shoei helmet I had the two now the three, the three is an upgrade obviously from the two not masses of difference but I think it’s got a slightly better airflow and seems quieter a touch heavier but not noticeable when wearing pin lock supplied although I don’t use them the sun visor is a great edition easily operated with gloves on by side leaver on the left-hand side. The main visor clicks shut and you have to press a button at the front to open it., felt a little awkward to find the button with gloves on to start with but didn’t take long to get the hang of it. There are other great helmets out there but this helmet ticks all the boxes I need. Fairly expensive, but at the end of the day, what’s your Head worth?
Comfortable and quiet with no neck issues experienced.
Bought this helmet to replace X-SPR Pro but turned out to be the biggest mistake. Chinstrap clip chokes my throat by squeezing Adam’s apple. Since I’m used to Shoei I thought this helmet would fit me well but it gives me headaches. With addition of chin mount for action camera seems to add more weight at the front i.e. more neck and head pain. If it wasn’t for my big wind deflector on my GSA, my ears would be shot. Super noisy.
I started off with cheap helmets and have been happy with them all until I upgraded to this. It’s a lot more money but you really do get a much better lid for your money, fits great, and can be custom fitted by a specialist if that’s what you want. The thing that sets it apart for me thought is the design allows for my glasses to comfortably slot into a space between the padding which means there’s no rubbing or pressure on the bridge of my nose or ears which was a real issue with my Nolan helmet
Great comfort, superb quality.
About to do a Euro trip and wanted to kit out the misses in new gear
She's small and this suits her perfectly
It goes with the GT Air I got at the same time
I've been after one of these for a while
I got the Cardo unit to go with it and both work great together
The delivery time was excellent, ordered Thursday night received items Saturday morning.
The helmet is good apart from one thing, the ratchet strap is to short, I have adjusted the strap to the furthest limit and it is still a little tight. The manufacturer should make the strap longer.
My heads 59.5cm, the Large fits perfectly. Very comfy and very quiet on the road. Couldn’t be happier. And great service and packaging from SBS as usual.
I bought this after trying an AGV K3. The K3 was a great fit but the tight neckroll made it a nightmare to get it on and off so I opted to go for a premium brand, and it was well worth it. The helmet slides on and off with ease but is still nice and snug like you'd want from a well fitted helmet. It has Pinlock, port for Sena for Shoei, Sun Visor, and emergency release for the cheek pads. All in all I cannot fault this helmet - you get what you pay for, and with this you pay for near perfection.
The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, they fitted the pinlock for me, I was able to try the product before final payment. The helmet is quiet and comfortable
I’ve been really impressed with my Shoei GT-Air helmet. It fits great, feels comfortable on long rides, and the airflow is really good when the vents are open. It’s also noticeably quiet at higher speeds, and the built-in sun visor is a really useful feature.
Very comfortable with lots of great features!
I have suffered with pain around the forehead with my other helmets, but this Shoei GT Air 3 is super comfortable.
Nice and quiet (especially with the top vent closed) and it was great that it was also delivered with a Pinlock.
I would seriously recommend this helmet - it’s worth paying that bit more.
Great product, a worthy successor to the GT Air 2 but I have to give a shout out to the staff @ the Birmingham store. They could not have been more helpful and are the reason I've been recommending this Sportsbikeshop to anyone that will listen!
Quiet, comfortable and functional. The top vent is fantastic but the front vent like my Neotech 3 does nothing. Overall great.
