Daytona Road Star Gore-Tex Boots - Black
Customer Product Reviews
2nd pair of these for me, the first have developed a leak after many years of wear and touring. I was looking at a repair but decided on a new pair. An excellent boot, does exactly what it says on the tin, warm, comfy, and excellent protection, expensive but worth every penny.
Best boots I have ever bought. Comfortable from new, no breaking in necessary very easy to get in and out of with the double zip. These are made slightly wide, brilliant for my wide feet but a standard foot may need to go down a half size. I wear a euro 44 in Alpinestars but 43 fits perfect in the Daytona. Pricey but worth every penny.
Finally got what I was looking for.
Following an accident (not bike related) I was left with a deformed ankle. The cupboard under the stairs is littered with boots that were tried but ended up being binned as they rubbed the metalwork in my ankle. I've been using walking boots for years but thought it time to invest in something a bit more specific. I tried the Daytona classic AC but, found that they also rubbed. Following an exchange with Sports bike shop I tired these. They fit almost perfect. I can walk in them without too much discomfort. I was never going to get perfection as my ankle is far from a normal shape but these are as close to it as I'm ever going to get. I tried the wide fitting as well as the Reg, the wide didn't offer anything more so I went with Reg. I'd heard that they stretch a bit so went for a size down. I thought that'd cause issues with the ankle but no. These boots are very professionally made, exceptional quality and what you'd expect for the money. I'm not a fan of black as it attracts the heat in summer but, I'm prepared to sweat a bit for this standard of protection and build quality. I'd like to thank the Sportsbikeshop team for their patience with me and my wonky ankle.
Really happy with the boots a snug fit to say the least, I have a high instep so this is the first time I can get into the correct size boots due to the 2 Zips. Take a bit of breaking in but great boots, don't forget to order the cleaning stuff. Quality excellent.
I have only worn them 5 times, the quality is excellent, the fit spot on. What was really important to me was the comfort, especially when off the bike walking, these are brilliant, no uncomfortable spots or pinches. Not worn in the wet yet so can't comment there!
Waterproof, protective slippers
I bought my first pair of Roadstars four years ago, they have been used and abused for an average of 14 hours a day, 6 days a week. I have crashed in the boots twice (most recently at 60 mph when a car pulled out from a side road without looking). My feet have never been wet, sweaty or injured in these boots, hence ordering this second pair while my originals are being re-soled. The best, most comfortable and protective boots I have owned in 23 years of riding.
Good as they get
Can't rate them too highly. Look good, feel good, had them on for ten hour sessions biking and walking about. Very happy with them. Might mention this is a good firm to buy from, wrong size, changed, no problems only solutions. If other firms behaved like this firm.... wow, would be great. Great boots, great service. Little more I can say really?
After purchase the first wearing was on an Iron Butt Run of 1050 miles in 24hrs with the remnants of hurricane Oscar for company. 24hrs of almost constant rain. NO PROBLEM! Warm, dry and comfortable throughout. Expensive but money very well spent.
This is my second pair of Daytona boots. They're exceptionally comfortable and need no wearing in whatsoever. I found these boots to be extremely light with good foot support, great for walking as well as riding. They're quick and easy to get on and off, the two zips work well. Nice calf adjustments for comfort too. I've already worn these for a whole day in torrential rain and as I expected were 100% waterproof. These boots are well worth the money. I can't fault them!
Plush and comfortable
Needed a new pair of touring boots when my old Halvarssons pair give up the ghost after around 4 years of use and decided to splash out on the Daytona Road Stars. Main reasons being the well known quality and the ability to have them repaired if the boots begin to fail in any way. Only had them on a couple of times and not in the rain as yet although I have no concerns with the Goretex liner. Whilst I couldn't really fault the old boots, these Daytona's are a step up in the all day comfort stakes with the plush inner liner and all day comfort when walking around off the bike. The double opening also helps with getting them on once you get used to it. I'm hoping the extra investment in these will pay off in longevity with the repair service on offer and the build quality. Expensive but hopefully worth it in the long run.
