Ultimateaddons Essential Heated Grips

This is my second ultimateaddons heated grips purchase. I first fitted the premium plus grips to my Kawasaki W800 that have intergrated controls built into the left hand grip and am very pleased with them. When it came to buying grips for my Enfield Interceptor, i decided to buy their budget grips named Essential grips. These are a third of the price of the premium plus ones and use a seperate control switch on the handlebars. Unlike the Oxford grips that have a huge ugly panel, these ones come with a very small neat panel that fits descreetly on the bars almost unnoticed. Fitting was easy enough, the left grip was very tight and didnt need any glue, the throttle side was looser and did need glue. They work just fine. There are two small negatives, like most heated grips the throttle side gets a little hotter than the left one as the handlebars draw more heat from it than the more insulated throttle side. Most are like this so no real problem. Secondly, the diameter of the grips is a little fatter than my premium plus ones. All in all though, if you are looking for some good quality budget grips, I recommend these.

Only fitted a few days ago but the the grips seem pretty decent.

Neat controller gives a much cleaner, less cluttered look to the bars.
One simple big button to operate.
Straightforward install. Although the electronics sense a volt drop and turn them off, I used a relay to eliminate the possibility of any parasitic draw from the battery. Bosch 30 amp relay from Amazon for less than a fiver, attached with velcro near the battery keeps everything neat and rattle free.
The cable lengths were good for my bike, enabling the connections to be located in a good position without have to shorten and hide lots of excess cable.
Good price for the spec.

Cons
Wiring Instructions are a bit vague.
They don't get as hot as my previous Oxford grips but I never used to use the Oxford Grips on maximum anyway. From the short rides I've had so far they seem more than adequate.
The connectors a bulkier that fitted to some Oxford grips and not waterproof but most connectors on bikes aren't anyway.

I can't comment on the reliability due to only fitting them last week but they seem decent quality and look good.

I love these. Really easy to install and very good instructions. I bought these as a back up if the weather was really cold but I end up with them on a lot more than expected for an extra level of comfort I didn’t know I wanted or was possible. Very neat little controller too, compared to the giant Oxford box. Totally recommend.
