Hiplok DX1000 D-Lock

Best lock,of its type available.
Best visual deterrent too. Don’t bother trying to angle grind this one bike thief!

I bought this security product to protect my Bonneville Speedmaster and on the strength of a Bikesocial review. I should have read the product detail and measured my wheels as the lock won’t go round either the front or back wheel. I had to tear the lock out of its packaging which made a return difficult. I am using the lock on another motorcycle which already had adequate security. The product details indicate that it is of use to bicycles as well as motorcycles which is a hint at its limitations. So my advice is carefully measure your motorcycle wheels and check against the locks dimensions before buying. The lock is quite heavy and for the price it should have come with a FOC case suitable to being attached to a motorcycle.

Bought this lock following my bike being stolen, luckily recovered by good citizens. I needed something to stop the bike being attacked and pushed away. This lock is great as it looks as if it would stop any attempt. It was expensive, but after compared to buying new locks it’s a bargain and guaranteed for life.

Gives you peace of mind

Great bit of kit for securing my bike whilst at home, a little bulky to carry and would benefit from some type of bike mount so could take with me when out. Solid secure rating and angle grinder proof although dont wish it to be tested.

Excellent D lock, good quality and if this does not deter thieves nothing will!
The only thing that lets it down is that the outer rubber insulation needs to be trimmed back in order that it fits through the Hiplock XL Loop End Chain.
This is easy enough with a Stanley knife but why the mismatch?
Fits front only not back wheel of Moto Guzzi Stelvio or similar adventure bike in this class.

If this lock was a chastity belt we would have half the population. Fantastic lock and a huge deterrent for opportunistic little gremlins (also known as see you next Tuesdays), who would like to relieve you of your beautiful machine. Very sturdy and strong, easy to put on and take off when you are meant to, best on the market in my opinion!

I recently have bought a new bike and decided to get a new lock. It was between this and the litelok again a great product. I did my research online and YouTube and there is not much between them.
This is superb I was surprised how heavy it is and straight away you can see it’s a good bit of kit which to a thief I would imagine if they see a bike with this on they will look for another bike.
It is expensive but the way I looked at it is if the bike got stolen I would lose a lot more money after the insurance company has paid out
So was a no brainer better to have this than not

This lock feels quality and hopefully will be a good deterrent. Easily locks around a front wheel.
Rubber coated to prevent damage to paint. A bit on the heavy side, but worth carrying for piece of mind.

Bought for some added protection to try keep my motorcycle safe

Not cheap but one of the best investments I’ve made for my bike. It’s clear this lock means business, the DX1000 is quite heavy making it feel like a solid well built lock, Knowing it’s resistant to angle grinders (to some extent) makes a huge difference and i no longer feel as anxious. The rubber coating also protects the frame or wheels. To transport this you will need a tail or tank bag due to it's weight, too hevau for a backpack, but that’s expected for this level of protection. For me, the trade-off is completely worth it.

Well, I hope that it doesn't get put to the test, but it certainly appears well made and it's a pretty impressive deterrent

This is a fantastic lock. It's hefty and inspires confidence in how secure it attaches to the bike. It's expensive but cheaper than buying a new bike and increased insurance costs. Well worth the purchase

Not suitable for front wheel on a fireblade but good for the back
