Verified Customer Reviews for Hiplok DX1000 D-Lock
Customers have shared consistent positive feedback on the DX1000 lock, emphasizing its robust and solid construction. Many highlight its potential as a strong deterrent against theft, assuring peace of mind. Although some customers note its weight, the quality and sturdy build seem to compensate for this drawback. There's appreciation for its protective rubberized finish, which prevents damage to bike paintwork. Overall, the lock is perceived as a worthwhile investment for reliable, quality security.
Not suitable for front wheel on a fireblade but good for the back
Great product. Super tough and easy to use. Could have been slightly wider for bigger tyres but overall, very please. At £299 it s a little expensive, but you can t put a price on good security for your pride and joy.
Shame really it seems like a good bit of kit but it’s not wide enough to go round the rear wheel of my GSA it will only just go round the front wheel
I carry this in my top box wherever I travel, looked at all the reviews and this lock is giving peace of mind when leaving the bike.
A great piece of kit to have really sturdy and feels well made, ok a bit expensive but if it works it's worth the money. 5*
Spoke to other bikers at a local biker cafe! Somewhere reformed motorcycle thieves they literally said if you see that on a motorcycle you walk past the noise and amount of blades you go through isn’t worth it !
This is definitely among the best U-locks in terms of security. It is large enough to fit through both the front wheel of my bike and around a thin post, or some ground anchors, but it won't fit the rear tyre. It comes with a couple of downsides though. At 2.75kg, it is 30% heavier than the Litelok X3 Moto, and you can certainly feel it! Fitting a noose-end chain through it can also be a challenge due to its thickness, severely limiting choices, or having to take some of the rubber coating off at one end.
This is the second one of these I’ve bought ,I still have and use the first . Easy to use and fit around my front tyres. ( I have two bikes) the reason for four stars is the price and the rubber lock cover could be better. At the moment the price is lower , I would have given five stars if I paid that ! !
Looks and feels very strong
I now have the D1000 and the DX1000, both fantastic locks but the DX1000 has the benefit of being able to fit round the wheel of my bikes rather than just through the disc or spokes. On my smaller bike it fits round the front or rear tyre but on my bigger bike just round the front tyre.
This lock gives me so much peace of mind when about. It feels very well made, sturdy and secure. The only slight downside is the weight as I wouldn't recommend carrying it in a rucksack, but considering the level of security this lock provides for the weight it's very impressive. I just put it in my topbox or tail bag.
Heard nothing but good things about these locks. Feels sturdy and reliable whilst not overall bulky.
Robust piece of equipment
Lock is heavy feels very strong just what I need
SBS sell this at a great price and you will know what youre buying. Easy to use on a front wheel of GS1250 and its probably easier to cut alloy wheel spokes than the D lock. Nicely built, covered in a soft rubber so protective of bike. Very heavy so has an effect of you wanting to leave behind at home - However I would take if parking outside overnight on a trip. Anything is often better than nothing but good luck to anyone who who wants your bike with one of these on
Agree with most of the comments here, so duplicating those adds little if any value.
The next lock iteration needs to include a more secure key cover solution. Mine has fallen off.
I asked Hiplok direct, if they received reviews collected by their distributors, they replied occasionally.
I recently purchased the DX1000 Lock for my brand new Yamaha XMAX 300, and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. From the moment I unboxed it, I found it incredibly easy to use. The design is straightforward, making it simple to secure my bike without any hassle.
What really stands out is the peace of mind it provides. Knowing that the DX1000 Lock is in place gives me complete confidence that my XMAX 300 is secure and safe, whether I'm parked at home or out and about. The robust construction of the lock adds an extra layer of security that feels reassuring.
Overall, the DX1000 Lock is an essential accessory for any motorcycle owner who values their ride. It's a combination of convenience and security that I highly recommend.
The product is how you would imagine a lock should be , it's unfortunate that on the rear wheel the DX model isn't long enough to go round a pole as well as the wheel. I was also surprised that the rubber part over the key area after one day of use peeled off , it's not. Massive deal but for the expense I thought it would have lasted longer. The last part the key is great but for some design reason the loop in the key is a long rectangle shape which is fine until you go to use the key on a bunch of keys, U end up moving it along the loop in order to use it, I don't know why it's not just a circle hole. Again not a huge deal just annoying. However with all of that it is a solid lock and I'm hoping all that above it's just cosmetic and so far the lock is doing its job . If Ur using on a motorbike the lock is heavy but not so heavy that you will notice the extra weight. And I'm seeing them on other bikes which means everyone who has one is deteriorating theifs for attempting. So that good , as far as the actual lock goes It seems solid and as yet no attempt has been made, when it's on you do feel that bit more assured that it will work.
Bigger than it's little brother the d1000, with the same protection. Small enough to stow in the top box. Great for when your touring. Excellent service from. The sportsbikeshop, next day delivery.
After reading a lot of reviews decided on this D-lock. It just fits my rear wheel and I can slip a link from a chain onto it.
Only downside I have found is that with my other d-locks from Abus when locked they are completely solid. This dx1000 I have, when locked the shackle has a gap where the 2 parts connect to each other. Almost 1cm of wiggle room, they might all be like this I don't know but when it's locked I don't think it compromises the security at all. I'm just comparing it to my other d locks from a different brand. I'd prefer this dx1000 to be like those how they feel locked solid.

About the 1000 Series

The weapon of choice for the professional bike thief is the angle grinder, which can cut through any standard lock in seconds. When the D1000 was launched, it revolutionised bike security with its ability to withstand a severe, sustained angle grinder attack.
The 1000 Series brings this technology to the whole suite of products.
Angle Grinder Resistant

Everything in the 1000 Series features Ferosafe, a graphene composite material that resists grinder wheels. It's been proven to take more than 20x as long for angle grinders to cut through this material than those used on standard D-locks.
Your Bike, Your Setup

Reach your bike from multiple angles with the rotating base and pivoting arm. You'll be able to configure your set-up to suit your type of bike and storage location.
