Our customers say…
Customers praise the robust quality and security of this ground anchor, noting its effectiveness with large security chains. Many recommend additional measures like metal putty or liquid metal for enhanced security. Ground anchor
18 June 2024 by Steven M
Very strong, safe and secure piece of mind knowing when I go out l know my bike is securely locked away in my garage.
Heavy duty
15 May 2024 by Matt
Excellent, heavy duty ground anchor, probably stronger than the floor it's bolted to!
Problem bolts
24 April 2024 by Anonymous
This is a substantial ground anchor. I had some trouble with the fixings. Holes were drilled to the right depth and radius, but the bolts weren't biting. SBS arranged new fixings, but in the meantime I got some better quality ones from Screwfix. They did the job!
Pleased with the end result!

Great piece of kit, thick steel plates welded. There are metal balls to secure the bolt heads.

Excellent piece of kit, heavy duty construction. Not installed it yet but looks a very substantial anchor point for my Oxford HD chain..5*****

Mammoth ground anchor
18 January 2024 by Robert T
Would have got a 5* if the securing bolts were a better standard. Bought some from Screwfix to replace them. This is the second anchor I have purchased, very strong and good quality. Can accommodate a large Oxford security chain. Well worth the cost at this sale price.
Sturdy anchor
16 January 2024 by Shaun A
Good solid anchor let down by cheap raw bolts and some would miss no instructions.

Installed in my garage to have something secure to lock to. Feels rock solid, think anything more would be overkill for me
Would stop a boat ..

Easy to fit, this anchor was worth every penny. Hope it is enough of a deterrent
Good quality anchor
01 October 2023 by Alison W
Very well made anchor, easy to install. I'd have given it 5 stars but for the anchor bolts that go in the ground. Very flimsy and ended up replacing them with others from Screwfix.
Solid Deterrent

Well made, sturdy ground anchor that has pretty impressive lock down bolts. Well worth the money for the peace of mind.
As ever SBS handle everything quickly and without fuss, ideal.
Very sturdy.

It appears to be well made and bolted down to the ground well, a little bit of reassurance.
Very solid
20 July 2023 by Tom M
Rock solid bolted into the ground. I've never tried to steal a bike(!), but I imagine (and hope) that this would give you some serious trouble doing so.
Solid and gives great peace of mind

Very sturdy and solid anchor that is impossible to move once fitted. Offers great peace of mind - thank you!
Solid & sturdy

I definitely recommend this product for every person who is looking for an extra security for their motorbike. I wanted something that would put any potential thief off trying to take my motorbike and which would be accepted by the insurance company.
Ground anchor

Great anchor, let down by the poor quality securing bolts. Had to purchase 4 more from Screwfix to complete the job. The fixings that came with the anchor fell apart when dropped in the holes drilled and had to re-drill them again.
Seriously solid
18 June 2023 by Tricia H
Worth every penny. Seriously solid and well made and design. Very heavy and has a double thick layer so if the thief wants the bike they'll have to angle grind through two layers of steel.
Everything comes in the box except the drill bit, you'll need a 16mm masonry but and a heavy duty drill. My cordless drill was nowhere near powerful enough to drill into the concrete.
It also comes with ball bearings to hammer into the top of the bolts rendering them useless so the thief can't undo them, as extra security I would recommend some liquid metal squirted in just to finish.
I definitely recommend this product and a great delivery time from Sportsbikeshop.

Questions and Answers

Questions and Answers

    January 17, 2018

If you take the measurements of your chain, the measurements of the ground anchor are below - The dimensions inside the inner clasp where the chain will be located are approximately as follows: Height from top of base to underneath of clasp = 45mm. Width of clasp opening at base = 85mm. Width of clasp opening at top (beneath clasp)= 50mm.

  • Can you attach the anchor to a brick wall?

The dimensions inside the inner clasp where the chain will be located are approximately as follows: Height from top of base to underneath of clasp = 45mm. Width of clasp opening at base = 85mm. Width of clasp opening at top (beneath clasp)= 50mm.

  • I am searching for a great outdoor security post/anchor, and just don't understand how these will work - could thieves not just unbolt the anchor from the ground??

    August 25, 2011

The ground anchors are supplied with hardened steel ball bearings. Once the bolts are secured to the ground, the balls bearings are tapped into the screw head preventing access by allen key etc. Some models of anchors have further inserts which tap in to an undercut directly above where the screw is located.
