TecMate OptiMate 4 Quad 12V Battery Optimiser Premium - CANBUS (BMW/Triumph)

I needed a battery charger that worked with a BMW GSA 1220 R. I was fed up with removing the battery to keep it charged. Paul at the Birmingham branch advised me on the correct model and it was soon in stock. Simple instructions. Simple operating interface. Fitted it onto the DIN plug and it started charging immediately. As always good advice from the guys at Sportsbikeshop. Recommended.

Great battery charger that comes with 3 different options for charging.

Easily connects to BMW Canbus and so far seems to be working as expected. Good that it has the option for Lead or Lithium batteries.

This charger is great and makes charging easy. I've used on BMW (F900 and GS) and T120 and all charge through the Auxiliary port (sometimes called CAN-BUS). Just make sure you check whether you bike has a Lead or Lithium Ion battery as the settings are diff and the charger will report poor state of battery health if the wrong setting is used (found out when I thought I was charging a Lithium battery that turned out to be Lead Acid).

It works over the BMW canbus system, it also recovered a faulty battery, although it did fail with another one.

I bought this battery charger to go with my S1000XR that has a lithium battery and the charger plugs into the din socket near to the handlebars, so it couldn't be any easier and it keeps the battery topped up through the cold months.

So simple to change the use of this charger/maintainer using the black button. Have used Optimates quality products for many years to keep my bike batteries in top condition. This is an upgrade to my previous models - very pleased and a better price in store than online prices. I just had to buy their extension SAE lead as the std configuration wasn’t long enough….again bought from SBS

It does exactly what I need it to do - keep the bike's battery topped up when not in use. It's great that I can just plug it directly into the DIN on the side of the bike without having to take the seat off or having a cable hanging out the side of the bike. However, I can't comment for the other features as not been able to use them. Unfortunately, it doesn't give you a current voltage read, just a few LED's which represent how the full the battery is - would be better if it actually said the number.
