Verified Customer Reviews for TecMate OptiMate 3 Battery Optimiser (SAE)
I needed to upgrade my charging regime, and as my 20 year old Optimate was still going strong, I bought another. I found Sportsbikeshop, by looking for the cheapest price, as you do, but trying to maintain the Optimate quality.
The delivery was swift and the quality of the items was as expected. My old Optimate is now upgraded to the new style connectors. Connectors are a good tight fit, look good, and I am future proofed for another 20 years.
This was a very straightforward fit to the battery. Connectors to the device appear very solid and reliable (better than the other well known make that has a tendency to wear out). The lights and front panel seemed a little confusing - until you plug it in and then it all makes sense and is very straightforward. If I leave it disconnected a few days and then reconnect, it instantly goes to recharge mode (Tracker to thank for the drain). Very happy with it. Right make, right choice.
I've been using an Optimare 3 since 2016 and it has been faultless. Maintains the battery in top condition 24/7. I purchased another for a third motorbike arriving soon. This will extend the life of your battery for years for low running costs. I have a much older Optimate 2 optimiser that still works fine. They are built to last.
I needed a second trickle charger for my second bike. I already have an optimate which I've had for over ten years with no issues.
No-brainer to get another optimate, really pleased with the price from SBS and their usual rapid delivery.
Does a great job of keeping the battery topped up.
Excellent delivery service from Sportsbikeshop.
Great bit of kit
Good price, easy to use, works well.
Very pleased with the charger. Easy to use and gives peace of mind over the winter months if the bike is not being used.
Excellent product, bought to replace an older version I've had for years, keeps the battery in perfect condition over the cold winter months
My second Optimate charger, this one is for my scooter, plug it in and let it do its thing! Simples.
One thing is the male to female connections are tight, rather be tight than slack but in my opinion a little too tight! (Same on my lithium charger too - no surprise cable ends and mouldings all look identical)
Gold standard in chargers, no settings or options to mess up it just works. Easy to see the status at a glance from across the garage and can be wall mounted.
I bought this to replace an old unit that failed due to a bolt of lightening hitting nearby powerlines. It's a great piece of kit at a good price, well built and easy to set up and use. It arrived promptly as do all purchases from Sportsbike. Does what it's meant to and I'd happily recommend.
Absolutely brilliant piece of kit plus a cracking price
Easy to follow instructions and if in doubt you can watch how to use it on YouTube
Fantastic service from ordering too delivery
Ordered it, arrived in two days, connected the next day and sorted for the winter. The connections are simple and the lights tell you what you need to know. No need to manually check on it as when I go into the garage for other things the lights on the device tell me the charging situation.
Extremely simple to install and use. There are no buttons so you simply plug it in and leave it attached to your battery and it does it's thing. Best to attached the adaptor to your bike so that you simply plug the Optimate in to it rather than gaining access to your battery each time. Allows you to leave your bike all winter if you don't use it and you don't need to go and start it every week or two, and reduces the risk of damaging the battery so it pretty much pays for itself - especially with more modern bikes and batteries.
Bought this as a replacement for an old charger I had for my bike.
I think it was very easy to hook up and use. Feels sturdy and of good quality for money paid.
Cracking bit of kit wired up to my bike does what it says on tin
