Bought for my BSA Gold Star 652 as it has no centre stand or facility to get back wheel off ground, so I can be confident that ALL the chain is kept lubricated. Very neat installation so doesn't detract from the classic look of the bike.
Ordered this for my Tiger 800 XRT. Wanted the Vsystem as I didnt want another electronic attachement on my handlebars. This works when you start the engine and stops when the engine does.
For me, it was awkward to install as it required me to take fuel tank and air box off to get to the vacuum line I needed. Other bikes dont need that level of strip down. Once this was done, installing the resevoir and running the oil tube down to the sproket was straight forward.
It was a bit messing filling the resevoir up but I think that was just me! Make sure you have the resevoir set to prime and keep filling until the oil makes its way down to the nib.
Took me about 10mins to get the flow right to about one drop a minute.
Does it work? - Time will tell or at least the other reviews say it does but so far so good!
This is my fifth installation of a Scottoiler, I am far too forgetful to do proper chain maintenance and use my bike several times a week, so this takes the stress out of it. The Sports bike Shop special edition was usefully cheaper than standard for the same product, so a no-brainer. Scottoiler have a great website with fitting guides and technical information. I don't know if anyone else makes a similar product, but these are really well thought out. Not tried the electric version but have never had a problem with the vacuum model except when I forgot to fill it up.
I recently bought the scotoiler kit which is of good quality
I noticed a pipe was missing and was asked to submit picture of what parts I had received and got replacement next day
I also purchased a Scottoiler Scorpion dual feed recently but was not impressed as no metal bracket is supplied and reliies on self adhesive clips , which in my experience come off which is not surprising considering they are mounted on swingarm
The single feed in kit comes with a metal bracket to bolt on
Smallest of the Scottoilers but ideal for what I wanted. Small size easy to locate on the bike. Special SportsbikeShop offer made this the cheapest I could find. Usual Scottoiler quality, and it includes a bottle of oil, great stuff.
Sportsbikeshop deliver super fast as always.
To say my husband was surprised is an understatement, bought it for our anniversary. He has a Kawasaki Versys 1043cc and it's the perfect size due to lack of space. Ordering was very easy, there was so much detail about the product to read which was great as it helped me hugely in what one to buy for his motorbike. Delivery was fast, the item was very much worth the money. I recommend this seller 100% and will be back in the future for more items.
Had scottoiler before on other bikes and found them to be good. After having a shaft drive for last 8 years I down sized to a chain drive vulcan 650 and the micro size is the only one to fit small spaces. And it's works just fine to help with chain life and maintenance.
Had this on my last 2 bikes
very clever & reliable
l have had scottoilers on my bikes for 20 plus years, just swoped it across from bike to bike
but space was limited on my new bike so went for the micro, just take your time on fitting it
and you'll have no problems. all my bikes have do 25 to 40k miles on one chain.
cos it's lub all the time, don't have to adjust it as much. the little oil you get on your rear wheel just washes off with soapy water, unlike the caned stuff
Neat and tidy
I’ve used Scottoilers for over 25 years of biking and they have always performed great. I don’t think I’ve ever had any issues with any of them. Bought this one as space is limited and I followed the instructions and it all works a treat.
Good value for money, easy to fit on bike with limited space. Just work out where the unit is best located and the rest is straight forward. Excellent service as usual from Sportsbikeshop.
Easy to fit, quick delivery
Small and compact so can be fitted out of sight on the bike. A great little chain oiler at a great price
Great quality item . Mini version easy to locate on bike when full size version might not .
Easy to install, and gives peace of mind for chain maintenance.
